Once Gabriel got settled into the Patriots' offense in about week 3, he started being a decent WR3/WR4 option for most fantasy teams, and he even scored TD's in 3 of his first 4 games, although he cooled off after that point. However, against the Jets in Belichick's painful loss to Mangini, Gabriel had a critical fumble after a catch, and he's been invisible since. He's not on the injury report.
Until week 9, the week before the Jets game, Gabriel was averaging a respectable 6 targets per game, varying from lows of 3 (twice) to a high of 11. He got 2 targets in the Jets game (I think the fumble was in the first half), and has none since. That's right, in the 10 quarters since that fumble, he's not been targeted once.
Gabriel's no star but he's a competent NFL WR and he's on a team that seems like it could use all of the WR talent it can given Brady's love for distributing the ball. How long is this going to continue?
