Wow, Proehl was drafted in 1990?

Wow that draft was pathetic. Gotta give props to Ricky Proehl though. I think Terrence Mathis is the only other guy I've heard of on that list.

Yeah Proehl was born in 1968. He's 38 years old and still better than alot of players on NFL teams.

yeah no kidding. Fred Barnett with the Eagles I remember, but that's about it.

None? Probably never or at least not in recent memory. I know 2003 and 2002 each had only three first round WRs which is the lowest amount since 2000. Everyone seems to expect this year having 2 for sure and maybe 3.

There aren't 2 sure-fire 1st round receivers in this draft class.

Wow - 1990 looked like a rough year. This year's class is certainly thin, but the top 2 prospects look solid and should be decent value in mid to late round picks. Moss could be a playmaker like his brother and a good 2nd round value. Personally, I like Stovall too. He will be good value for some team.

 Oh, I guess I have been misreading the dozen of draft sites and mock drafts. There's nothing "sure-fire" in the NFL draft is that's your point. Thanks for stating the obvious. But, the consensus seems to be that Jackson and Holmes go in round 1 with Moss in the top half of the 2nd. We will not know till we know. But, by most guesses, that's how it's looking. Would they be first round picks any other year (maybe that's your point), it depends, but due to the lack of depth this year, they should both go mid to late first.

IIRC, Barnett is the most "recent" young WR on the Eagles who was actually pretty good. All the young guys they've drafted since him have been pretty mediocre.

1990 - Yuck, yuck and yuck. :X

As far as this year's class goes, thank the maker I'm not in need of WRs. Even the best of these guys are simply possession receivers or return men in the NFL.

But hey, who knows, maybe someone will surprise us. Just I won't be drafting any of 'em. Not in the 1st, that is.

I'm pretty sure at least 2 WRs get taken in the first, but that doesn't make them 1st round talents.

Those 6 are the only ones that made even a slight impact in the league. Only Mathis and Barnett had 1000-yard seasons. Proehl and Calloway had decent careers as boring but steady #2 guys. Williams and Green each had a couple nice seasons, but lacked consistency and didn't stick long.I can't imagine there has been a worse draft class at WR since.

Same here. What a weak WR class.

This is the worst group I've seen in a long time. I see only 2-3 potential #1 WRs, and I wouldn't bet on any of them.

4 97 Chris Calloway WR Michigan
His stats don't show muchhttp://www.profootballreference.com/players/CallCh00.htm

but for a while he was always getting the big catch for the g-men. One of the more underappreciated players I can ever recall. Reeves+Fassel seemed to insist on drafting a WR over and over. Alford? JJ, Amani, Ike, Patten?

I'm not saying he was great, he was a far (gigantic) cry from Jerry Rice but I'd bet Skins, Boys, and Eagles fans would pay a backhanded compliment and say he was a royal pain in the neck.

What do you think Stovall's pro impact could be all? I think he's a nice player to pickup in the 4th and he could flourish as Galloway enters the Tampa Bay Twlight come 07 or 08.
