D'Qwell Jackson Done For Year (1 Viewer)

I just heard this too. So who will benefit most in CLE? Gocong, Fujita? I need to drop DQ and pick up another LB.

i think they would do well to move fujita inside. gocong is still learning MLB. fuj has played it before. maybe they move roth to the other side and give bernard more snaps.

I don't think there is anything new here DQ hasn't played yet this year so I don't know why they would move people around now. :confused:Bowens and Barton are the other ILBs besides Gocong (who also played some MLB last season). Look for Bracie Smathers posts on CLE D

Its tough to find a direct connection since Rob Ryan, the Browns DC, has been using a platoon of players inside to off-set the loss of D'Qwell. Fujita was being used more outside and splitting time with Marcus Bernard who just so happens to be on the brink of a five-game sack streak that has carried over from last year but his snap count is split with Fujita. So if you are rewarded with sacks then you should take a look at Bernard butdon't expect many tackles. The main guy inside right now is Gocong but he hasn't really done much in the box score.David Bowen is a guy who was playing great last year and he is used inside. Eric Barton is used inside. Fujita gets some snaps inside. I haven't seen Trusnic yet but he was used last year when D'Qwell went down for ten games. Basically its a mess so if you are looking for a replacement for D'Qwell you won't find one in terms of anyone who will step in and give a facsimilie of what Jackson provided. And the guy who I liked, Matt Roth, is getting pulled in some situations so he is not making the plays he was last year. Its a true team-defense concept that Rob Ryan is using and it is working so far as the Browns have only given up two touchdowns and one of those was a two-yard drive from a bad Jake Delhomme interception so in reality the Browns defense has only given up one touchdown drive in two games.Bottom line, stay away from all Browns linebackers. Its a heavy rotation with no IDP value. The only guy to benefit from the loss of D'Qwell Jackson is safety T.J. Ward who won't have to compete for tackles on the edge that he makes with his speed and explosion but its not a bump to T.J. as much as that he won't face any competition for those edge/spee-explosive tackles that has him tied at third in the NFL in total tackles and at second in solo tackles.
