Every time we here of an injury in ALL OF SPORTS his name comes up. The players get right in to see him and have a diagnosis the same day. I bet is cost an arm and two legs to get in to see him on short notice. This guy seems to be really good at what he does from all that I hear. Anyone know his history. WHO IS THIS GUY?

Like most NCAA team orthothpedics, I bet he does not get paid much for doing the high profile athletes. The publicity of being Palmer's doctor or "such and such's" team doctor is great publicity.

I was on a plane to B'ham a few weeks ago, and sat next to the girlfriend of a current NFL bench player who was rehabbing after The Doc cut him up.

She said the team (Packers) paid for everything.

I'm guessing The Doc sends The Team a pretty hefty bill.

BTW, Dr. Andrews initially became famous after working on Bo Jackson.

Perhaps. My wife (a PT and part-owner of the clinic in which she practices) has treated numerous patients who were operated on by Dr. Andrews. Mostly typical middle-class people, not high profile athletes, who would likely go to someone else if Andrews' fee scale was exorbitantly out of proportion to other orthopedic surgeons.
