Draft Chat With our Draftniks Matt Waldman and Sigmund Bloom Tonight D (2 Viewers)

New Orleans is perfect for Ingram. They can use Bush the way they'd like and split carries with Thomas, I think Ingram will keep fresh and have some great games but still have a boom or bust potential with some 40 yard games on limited carries. He has the skills to get 'er done.
He's twice the back Thomas is. Ingram might take awhile to take over the starting role, since Thomas is the vet with the ring....but Ingram will be the man in time. That system is perfect for him. Ivory and Thomas were average talents that did well due to huge running lanes and a great offensive coach.Ingram is a GREAT talent. Perfect fit for dynasty purposes. Re-draft it's kind of a mess, but we'll see.
I agree with you totally but I actually hope NO eases him in and gives him 12-15 carries a game before handing over the reigns. I'm as high on Ingram as anyone and think he'll be great he has all the tools IMO.
I don't see the reason to ease him in. He's NFL ready, he's a stud, they have a great offense...My biggest fear for him was a team with an average line and QB like the Dolphins. He's stepping into a similar situation as Emmitt did. Talent everywhere, great QB......He's 1.01 in non-ppr drafts without question and maybe even in ppr drafts. When Pierre sprains his ankle and misses two months again, Ingram will be a top 5 RB in the NFL. I'm happier about this pick by the minute.

crap, thought i dodged the bullet/Pierre&Ivory owner in multiple leagues LOL
Pierre and Ivory have always been marginal talents...let's not pretend this is some huge surprise.
ummm.... so you didnt think it was a surpise that NO picked Ingram after they just picked 4 picks earlier?!?!?re-read my post ... i THOUGHT i dodged a bulletwho cares if Pierre and Ivory are marginal talents they play on a top2 offense and NO passed on Ingram at #24 so i took a deep breathand Pierre isn't marginal, Mendenhall rode the pine at Illinois waiting on Pierre to graduate so he could get some carries

I like the Wilkerson kid a ton more than Heyward...but perhaps that's my anti-Ohio state bias kicking in.

Did I mention Tressel is a collossal doosh...okay good.

If you are the Lions - do you try to give up this year's 2 and next year's 1 to move back in to take Prince?
I don't think that Schwartz thinks that way, giving up future picks.
He isn't the GM. Martin Mayhew runs the team.

How do you rank Green/Jones/Ingram in PPR dynasty?
assuming 1/2/3, 12 teamsGreenIngramJonesa lot will depend on how the Cincy QB situation shapes up though...Green could be wasted talent for several years in the debacle know as cincinnati...terrible franchise

I think Green is the best offensive player in the draft but I'm not sure about ranking him above Ingram until we find out what really happens with the Cincy QB situation. I'd go Ingram/Green/Jones

I actually tend to agree with those rankings this evening. We'll see how it all shapes up and if Carson has a change of heart.

This could be the least impactful fantasy 1st round in a long time, if ever.

1 RB

3 WRs

0 TEs

LOTS of teams still have a desperate need for a QB, and there aren't many defensible options left among the rookie pool.

Huge bump for fantasy defenses though. Never underestimate the impact of the fantasy defenses.

1st round picks by 2011 conferences: SEC 10, Big Ten 7, Big 12 5, Pac-12 5, ACC 3, Big East 1, MAC 1.

Pac 12 - Conference of ...eh.

Hmmm.... a guard?
And he's 26??? Oh, not liking this selection....
Yeah, doesn't that mean the Eagles will be releasing him in about 3 years when he's too old?
Don't like that, Losing 4yrs of play with him that old.
Baylor season ticket holder here, danny didn't play football until he was in juco so i'd say he doesn't have the wear and tear issues of a football player of his age. Danny played left tackle at BU after the departure of 2nd overall pick in 2009. I think Danny has an attitude that will fit in well in Philly, he is nasty and a leader.

On the Ingram/NO backfield dynasty front, didn't Pierre Thomas sign an extension with New Orleans in March? Maybe I am misremembering here. Obviously they could still trade him but I'm not sure what the market would be. Mid-round pick at best.

I'd love it if the Bills can grab Akeem Ayers with their 2nd round pick. Screw Dalton or Kaepernick. (I think the Bills do actually have interest in Kaepernick. I hope more like 3rd round interest).

So at this point, are we assuming that Bowers' knee is literally hamburger meat?

The kid was the # 1 pick in the draft after Luck bowed out.

At this point, I'm happy to see New England trade back. I used to hate it, (because they always get great value) but now I'm all for it.

As a Jet fan, I just see it as one more first round talent that won't be on the team for a year of Tom Brady's career.

At some point, you actually have to pick a player.

I was worried about Ingram's chances if he went to a team with a bad oline. On the Saints? Wow, he's going to be good. Not thrilled about splitting time with Thomas for 2010...But he is going to a great place. He will help New Orleans a lot. Pierre Thomas and especially Chris Ivory owners just threw up.
I imagine PT just got his "pack your bags" hint. Think he is traded as soon as FA opens.
I definitely expect Thomas to be traded. Good player who could just never stay healthy.
More likely Bush gets cut. PT is signed 4 years under $3mil/year. I think Bush's number this year is $12mil, more in 1 year than Thomas for the next 4. PT very good in pass protect and receiving out of the backfield, very doubtful he's let go. New Orleans liked to rotate 3 backs when everyone is healthy last few years, likely they will continue.

I keep hearing he cleared medically. At this point - you have to guess we'll have an interesting tidbit surface post draft.Somethings up.

Seems that way. Still, I'd be thrilled if the Bills take him at 34. Screw the 3-4 in Buffalo. They don't have the LBers for it anyway. Kyle Williams, Dareus and Bowers up front would be awesome (with mix of Carrington and Troupe )

I think in the second you say screw it and roll the dice on Bowers. So maybe you get 3-4 years and he's done. A lot of the coaching staffs picking early in the second may not have THAT long a shelf life.
