Draft Pick Swap (1 Viewer)

I was just offered the #2 slot in our redraft league for my #9 slot. The only caveat is in rd. 7 ONLY we would swap picks. Thoughts? Although, it's kinda a no brainer.

:goodposting: You swap your 9 for the 2nd overall and lose your pick in the 7th?? How can this ever be a bad thing?

It can't...and I would not lose my 7th pick - we would just swap 7th picks.

do you mean you're swapping every pick except the 7th rounder?
yes.
Wait now this is not what the original post says. Are you saying that you swap picks in rounds 1-6? Something is wrong here
yes, he's swapping draft slots, meaning every pick1.2, 2.11, 3.1, 4.11, .....etc.

for

1.9, 2.4, 3.9, 4.4.....etc.

in exchange for moving up, he'll retain 7.9 and the other guy will retain 7.2.

I would now pick in the #2 slot and he would now pick in the #9 slot. The ONLY exception to this would be rd. 7 where I would pick at 81 and he would pick at 74.

Yes

So this is a serpentine re-draft as well, now.

I guess the guy with the #2, for whatever reason, doesn't like the amount of picks in between this, and his next selection and figures "his guy" will be there at 7.

How many teams are in the league? 10, 12, more?

I can kind of see the logic in this, but it's pretty hard to pass on LT, LJ or SA at 2 overall.

12 team league. Pretty normal scoring with the exception that rec. get 1 pt. and rec. TD's get 10 pt.'s

this year, i believe getting the 2nd overall pick warrants losing 7 spots in the 7th round only.

I would agree, although I do agree also with Sack somewhat. In this league, STUD WR's can be formidable - and at 9 you would be forced to go that route taking the likes of CJ and Holt with the first two picks. Almost forgot, starting lineup is 1QB, 1RB, 2WR, 1RB/WR, TE, DEF, K. So only one starting RB required.

Agreed. grabbing one of LT/LJ who will catch a good amount of balls at the 2 spot should still allow him to get a quality RB2 and a top 5 WR or 2 stud WR's with his picks in the 2nd and 3rd.

You say that like it's a bad thing. If you can potentially start the draft with your choice of Larry Johnson or Ladainian Tomlinson and follow that up with an RB like Westbrook or Domanick Davis in the second round who may be there at your pick. If they're not there, like you said you get CJ, Holt, Fitz, TO, Boldin or Harrison. That's a helluva start to your draft.

With only having to start 1 RB, you can try to get either the Indy or DEN handcuff later in the draft as well.

Good luck.

With the point per reception and 10 points per rec/td - it looks to me like the guy wants to assure himself a 2nd tier RB and a 1st tier WR by moving down. Personally, I would rather have LT and Chambers than R. Johnson and a stud WR. . . but, with this scoring, something along the lines of Westbrook/Smith would be a pretty outstanding one/two punch.

But take the deal. Grab LT and then Gates/Boldin on the turn.

Good luck.

Who's more drunk? The guy who offered it.. or the guy who didn't accept without asking a message board?
