Why are they using 15 yards per point for passing? This is not a very common measure. Would it not be more beneficial to most to use a more common metric, i.e, 20 ypp?

Even 20 seems sort of rare. From what I've seen, 25yds per point seems to be the faraway standard.

I was just switching it up in one of the studies to vary the scoring rules. I believe the two most common are...

1 pt every 20 yards

1 pt every 25 yards

but I have played in leagues that have this as well

1 pt every 10 yards

1 pt every 15 yards

1 pt every 50 yards

1 pt every 20 yards, 10 bonus points for 300 passing yards

4 pts per touchdown

3 pts per touchdown

6 pts per touchdown

etc.

If I could write 50 of these articles I could really break it down by different scoring / starting lineup requirements but I am attempting to fit in a lot to this series of articles.

Let me know what you would like to see and I'll see what I can do through the first two weeks of August. Have a lot of time to bang these out right now.

I just thought that the #3 slot breakdown was one of the most unrealistic drafts I have ever seen. My impression was that you tweaked the scoring to make that draft slot dominant. IMO, there is no way you draft that team.

I agree... Went through a few mocks with Brady at third and I was hurting big time. You better off taking Brees in the 3rd.
