Draft Trade Question (1 Viewer)

sjdogs

Footballguy
I love Ronnie Brown this year and have him at 4 and s jackson at 5 for rbs

I drew the 9 spot in my draft and am about to make a trade that would move me to the 4 spot so i have to give back rounds 2 + 3 and draft 5 spots below where i would have at the 9 spot.

The impact is huge but i want one of the two guys so bad that i think i am going to overpay and give it up. He has a 30% chance of making it to me at 9 but i doubt it

Thoughts ?

I think another forum covers this, but lay it out exactly what you get and give up. Do you get his 3+4th round picks also, or anything else?

The issue with giving up that draft pick to get a player you want will hurt your team as a unit.

You could get a back with the same or maybe just slightly less points with your regular pick. Depending on most drafts and AVP I have not seen Ronnie Brown going before 9 in many drafts. So unless you know someone above you in the draft will snipe him I would just wait and he may fall right into your lap at pick 9.

I thought posts like this were allowed during the offseason  Anyway, I'm not sure why the original poster thinks there is only a 30% chance R Brown makes it to #9...I'd say there is more like a 60-65% chance Brown is there at 9 and a 15-20% chance Steven Jackson is still there at 9..You certainly don't need to trade all the way up to 4... S-Jax is going ahead of Brown in almost every draft, so if you have Brown 4 and Jackson 5, Brown is who you should be focusing on.... I'd say you should feel VERY confident in getting him at 6 or 7.. No need to go all the way up to 4 unless nobody between 5 and 7 are willing to trade (this would surprise me because it seems like most people are trying to get out of those spots this year because their is a perceived drop-off in value after the "Big 3")

Stand pat. If he's there, you just saved yourself a headache. If not, you should be able to work a better trade than the one listed here. The consensus is most of the backs in the 6-11 range (after LT, LJ, Shaunie, Tiki, & Portis) are very close, so don't break the bank when you don't have to.

i know this guys but trust me niether would be there at 9, i know as a factthanks for the input
Who do you expect to be off the board in this redraft before the 9 spot? (I don't doubt that you know your own league and fellow owners better than we do, but still...)

We are from Ny and not many of us believe in tiki

our league will be

top 3 standard

4 portis

5 edge

6 jackson

7 tiki or brown

8 tiki or brown

9 ..

i will not get either of the two top guys i want there

i understand i am left with a very good back at 9 but i want MY GUY to make it intersting

i did the trade, gave up a lot but i will take brown or jackson and live or die by my sword

i dont like lamont as a #1

i dont trust rudi as my # 1

either would be unbeliveable 2 backs IMO but i cannot base my whole team around them

Your original post is confusing... so to move from 9 to 4, you have to give up your 1st rounder and your 2nd and 3rd rounder... to get to 4?

Is that what you are saying? If so, are you dating Ronnie or something... thats alot to give up for Mr. Brown.
