Draftguys Profile of Eric Foster

There are few defensive linemen on the planet with the moves and quickness of Eric Foster. He served as a captain during the rise of the Rutgers football program and never seemed to take his foot off the gas during games. Draftguys TV reveals how his linebacking and hoops background have helped this emotional leader overcome his size and why he'll continue to overachieve in the NFL.

I really like your production of Draftguys TV. Very well done.

I am a huge fan of Foster. As a Rutgers alum and someone who has seen just about every game he has played in, I agree with your assessment and think he will be a steal on draft day. He was a great team leader at RU and will continue to be one in the NFL. He is also one of the hardest working players you will ever see. With more and more emphasis being placed on character these days, his leadership and work ethic will certainly benefit Foster a great deal. I am really hoping the Giants draft him if he is available later in the draft especially if they still plan on keeping Kiwanuka at LB, which appears to be the case.

Bloom, do you think Foster has the speed to play OLB in a 3-4? I don't think he's quite that quick - seems his best fit would be as a 4-3 end. Agree/disagree?

I think Foster can do things like drop into coverage for a zone blitz and have better pursuit range than a typical DE - I don't know if he can be an everydown 3-4 OLB, but I think he can handle some of the duties, so he can be shifted around and disguise sets.
