I don't know my way around the main site here too well yet (first year subscriber).

What's the best place for me to look before pulling the trigger on a player? I noticed the outlook/spotlight pages aren't really super up-to-date (as far as very recent injuries/developments/etc.)

Also if there's anywhere outside of this site that is great for a 20-second check I'd love to know about it.

go to the news blogger (the tab that says "news" on the main page) - that should be up to date with any web news since we have guys on all day long in 3 hour shifts, posting asd they go.

As an example, the last story up there ius Portis' hurt shoulder posted:

August 13, 2006, 19:21 ET - that's within the last hour.

You can also look for news on specific players by going to their player pages and hitting the "latest news" tab.

Whatever guy you're about to pull the trigger on, click on "latest news."

Sweet, latest news tab definitely worked out.

My favorite is when I heard about Portis on the tube a little after his injury. I look him up and sure enough there's the injury already on the page. I was sold at that point.
