Drew Bennett surgery (1 Viewer)

1/5/2006 Drew Bennett, WR (Ten) On Tuesday, Bennett underwent arthroscopic surgery to clean out his troublesome knee. The veteran receiver, who battled soreness in the knee for more than a month late in the season, plans to be recovered in time to take part in the majority of the Titans' offseason workouts. Think he will be ready or something worth rememberring for next year?

Link? There is nothing in your post that indicates it is an ACL. If it is simply cleaining out loose cartilage then he should have no problems being ready for training camp if it's an ACl that is a different story.

Regardless of what the problem is, if he fully recovers he could be a steal in the 6th/7th rounds or possibly later. He's worth keeping an eye on.

Good call if McNair's no longer there. He mixes it up a lot more to the TEs and others.

I have a feeling one of the rookies (Roydell, Bradon Jones or Roby) will make Bennett 2nd fiddle next year. And that's after you consider Troupe and the TE crew.

Thats silly. McNair got Bennett some big games this year. If McNair isnt there, Volek will be, and the only thing Volek can throw to is the ground and the opponents.

Wasn't Volek the guy who made Bennett a top 10 WR two years ago?

Won't be Jones, likely, as he tore his ACL late in the season. 12-18 months for full recovery.I have this sneaking suspicion about Bobby Wade if they do sign him back, which they will do if they can't find 1-2 additional, better free agents in the off season. Other than that, I'd look at Roydell Williams.

I doubt the plan will be to throw to the TE's as often as they did. That was due to the WR injuries they had. Really didn't anyone left to throw to. I would expect to see the WR's more involved next year.

Almost every starting WR has some big games each year. Bennett had very few.TEs have always flourished under McNair - remember Wycheck?

I don't think this really explains the "why it happened" part of it however. Between the WR injuries, line issues, RB problems and QB injuries they just weren't effective except in a short passing game most of the year. BTW-Bennett played injured all year and even missed some games. It's difficult to have a big game under those circumstances. Now, if Tenn drafts Young (assumming he declares) and he's the starter then the big games for WR's might be few and far between as he learns and developes.

My post was editted by Chase. My original post, I was overtired. Sorry if I mis-stated a news story(seems likely from the thread). I don't usually do that here, sorry about that.Torn meniscus stated a couple posts up.

Regardless which it is, it's not a doctor sweeping up the garage and cleaning up. It's a surgery, minor maybe but...well like I asked originally, keep an eye on his progress or no?
