Obviously, there isn't much difference on paper, but if you had to pull the trigger, who would you take?

Thanks,

JAD

P.S. I know that this is my first post. I did look to see if there were any other similar posts. Didn't see any, but if there are, go easy on me.

I think Plax has more upside than DD, and could potentially get double digit TDs if Eli and the offense gel. But I think he will also be more prone to disappear in games. I'd rather have Driver with 1,200 and 8 guaranteed.

I agree that this year would belong to Driver. Burress's numbers were inflated with that week 4 game where he had 10/204/2. After that, he caught 3 touchdowns and broke 85 yards only 3 times in 12 games. I think in the future he will outperform Driver, but I would draft Driver without a doubt over Plax now.

In a redraft league Driver.

In a keeper league I would take Plax. He is a little bit younger even though he is a head case. Plus Driver is going to draw a lot of double coverage since he is the only WR worth a crap on that squad. Then when Farve retires Driver's numbers are going to fall big time.

Plax's qb will be there for a while plus Shockey, Barber, and Toomer will make sure Plax will not draw too many double coverage.

:bag:

After further review....I think I would have to vote for Plaxico.

1. Plaxico had 21 more targets last year then Driver....and he only caught 46.1 % of those passes thrown to him. You tack on just 15 more catches to that last years total, and you are looking at 91 reception 1,300 yard season.....which is top 10 WR status.

2. At 6'5... Plaxico is the much better red zone target. Evidence of this is last years red zone stats.... Plaxs 22 red zones looks to Drivers 14. Driver is not a goaline jumpball fade option....that Plax is.

3. The Giants offence with Tiki, Shockey, and Eli are the much more potent offence, and their Defence is much better then Green Bays. Giving them a shorter field to work with, and more Touchdown oppurtunties for Plax.

I think the projection for Plax is a little off and I could probably see a 75 reception 1,200 yard season 7 TD easy for Plax... with a potential ceiling of a 90 recpt 1,350 yards and 10 TD.

I don't see Driver as having the same type of ceiling.

I think Driver is the safe bet, but Plax has much more upside.

With Driver you are going to have a top 10-20 WR, with no potential of cracking the top 10....I think Plax has the potential to crack the top 10 WR

With that being said I think Plaxico gets the slight edge.

Driver will surpass Burress in 2006!!!!!

If you really assess his numbers throughout the season he had huge stretches where he was really pathetic.

He finished with a total of 6 games under 50 yards as WR1.

He had a 4 game stretch where he basically disappeared; he was 11 for 27 for 158 yards with no TD's!

And another 5 game stretch where he was only lousy; he was 23 for 54 for 310 yards and 1 TD.

If you average those games over an entire season then he would have finished with:

60 receptions, 144 targets, 832 yards and 2 TD's.

Take him if you want, but he will not perform consistently for all 16 games; and it is historical dating back to 2002 ...
