It looks interesting, if it can be done properly. The biggest problem I see is the time it will take to install. It takes workers now far longer than it should to build/fix ordinary roads now, and I see this being a huge money drain for a very long time.

I dont know the science behind it but there is no ####### way we could drain the suns energy in 300 years with a global grid of solar panels.

The idea is just ridiculous to begin with. Solar panels collect what comes down. What comes down doesnt get recycled back to the sun if its not collected anyway. How could us collecting more of what the sun sends in anyway affect how much it produces? Wtf is that guy even talking about?

Assuming these new technologies are cost effective, what do you think will be Big Oil's (Exxon-Mobil) response to such an initiative? They will not like being phased out. They will have to spend additional millions of dollars (out of many billions profit) to buy the necessary legislative votes to kill such an initiative. No?

On my drive home last night, I was thinking how awesome this would be. Then I started thinking how long this would take to lay down. Traffic in the NYC area would be at a stand still. I cant even imagine

Even if they started with doing this on brand new roads and parking lots, or bringing them in when they are already doing repair/replacement, so you wouldn't be tying people up too much, this would be a great idea.

Think they could link it to a text, so you could send a message to the guy in front of you. Like "Hey dumb ###, you are going 50 in the left lane of a super highway. MOVE OVER!!!" If you could I think you would get immediate support!!!

This is a great bump. I had completely lost track of these guys and their progress. Getting $2.2 million from crowdfunding is pretty remarkable.
