DT Haloti Ngata (1 Viewer)

He's the starter, but I'm telling you now that it isn't just the Ravens that are noticing how he's doing in Year 2.

When NFL / Sirius Radio came to town, they just loved what they saw in Ngata. He's a big kid and he's listed as a DT, but he'll get moved around. DE, possibly LB in some formations. Don't put anything past Rex Ryan moving him around and having him stand up.

He blew up the Philly OL in the preseason game - great first step / getting off the line.

Absolute BEAST. He was my favorite defensive player in last year's draft. With a guy like that on the line, it should mean good things for the linemen. I just hate that he ended up in Baltimore. Great selection.

if your league mandates a DT then he might be sneaky pick. short of that, i don't see him of real value in a redraft this season. dynasty maybe...

I think it is absolutely hilarious how you will go out and pick these players up in Red Dog, then post these glorifying columns.

I find it amusing.

Ngata had a very good season last year and made 13 solo tackles, including six games where he had zero, and finished well outside the top 50 DTs in most standard systems. Ryan is not going to move him from his vital NT role very often; there was a very similar story written in the local paper last year. He'll have no statistical impact as a DE or LB. With the rest of the defense as quick as it is, he'll have a hard time getting to the ball first even if he beats the double team more than he did last year. Likely a reserve even in DT specific leagues.
