Duck Dynasty dude's atheism hypothetical. (1 Viewer)

Look, leave Phil Robertson alone. If an old man in a dirty beard can't fantasize about kid-rape without being criticized, we're not free.

You missed the scariest part of the story:

"Robertson was the keynote speaker at the Vero Beach Prayer Breakfast in Florida, where hundreds of attendees paid up to $100 a plate to hear him speak."

As opposed to what? The people who pay $250 a ticket to see the Long Island Medium live show? These are all rubes who deserve what the get.

Good grief. Wonder what percentage of Christians would be happy if this rube was actually the face of the Christian faith. "Please, Mr. Robinson, try not to speak.. k-thanks."

I've paid $100 to see a show that was a whole heck of a lot less entertaining than what this dinner sounds like.

Can't blame him for giving them their money's worth.

On second thought, this.
One of you need to change your name.
Look... me and the McDonald's people got this little misunderstanding. See, they're McDonald's... I'm McDowell's. They got the Golden Arches, mine is the Golden Arcs. They got the Big Mac, I got the Big Mick. We both got two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, but their buns have sesame seeds. My buns have no seeds.

I'm more troubled that Phil's alter atheist ego didn't rape the wife but the two little girls instead.

I wonder what meal they served for $100 per plate, and if his comments came during the meal, dessert, or afterwards.

I know one thing, I don't want this cat saying grace for my family at our Thanksgiving table, Lord knows what sort of message might precede the "Amen".

Third person, then first person, then back to third person tense. And he never really did say what the bet was.

FAIL

As if anyone had to put numbers to this idiocy, maybe Mr. Beard there should take note that the 3 states with the least amount of violent crime per capita are also the 3 least religious states.

Meanwhile, the state with the highest amount of violent crime (Tennessee) is one of the most religious.

Seems odd one of the reddest states, Oklahoma gets all those tornadoes too. God must not like them for some reason even after all that praying they do.

Good point and a brand new argument no one has ever mentioned before. You are quite clever.

Glad to see Christians think my family deserves this.
 Not sure that's the point.
Well he was clear I don't know right from wrong so yeah it's kind of the point.
He's not saying anything about what atheists "deserve".
Right. He's saying that's what they're going to "get." If that's the way he thinks, he's one sick and twisted dude. And his hypothetical is incredibly perverse for a religious message.

He didn't say that, either. He said that if it happens to us, we'll have no moral grounds to complain about it since we don't believe in right and wrong.

He doesn't have even the tiniest bit of a valid point here, but he still deserves not to be criticized for stuff he didn't say.

Yes, that was certainly the main point of his message. I'd say he was alluding to that hypothetical being what they would get, but your point is fair.
