How is Duckett a Martz-type of RB? Duckett will be gone in a year. I do not see Tatum as a Martz-type either. I hope the Tatem trade and Duckett signing are in response to Calhoun, not KJ or the Lions will be picking high again next year and Kitna will be creamed by the second game. Big Dan and McCown willl be running for their lives.

Why would Duckett have to be a Martz-type RB to be the short yardage guy? His contract is 1 year, 1.5 million. That's the contract of a role player.I know Duckett was a first-round pick once upon a time, but that doesn't mean we have to keep imagining him in a featured role. He's been a part-timer, he has a part-timer's contract on a team that needs a part-timer with his skills. I agree completely with you if the assumption is that he is a goal line/short yardage RB. But, many on this board seem to think that the Duckett signing is bad news for KJ's injury and that, even when KJ is healthy, Duckett will challenge for carries outside of short yardage. My point was that if this is true, it is not a great thing for Kitna. But, also Duckett, iirc, will make more this season than the next two years of Tatum's contract.
