IR'd for his knee.

Small bump to Lacy, might save Starks NFL career and adds some relevance to the Green/Franklin pecking order.

Franklin has been pretty unimpressive IMO and a lot of writers at the moment. Still this clears a path for him if Lacy falters or misses time. So yes small bump to Lacy who was gonna start anyways, perhaps a bigger bump to Franklin only if he is now the bonafide #2.

Good point.

I think a lot of people are prematurely burying Franklin because he's had a poor camp by all accounts. But that doesn't mean that he's toast as a key contributor - sometimes guys start slowly. And what's to say that Lacy, despite a strong camp, won't be as good as he's shown when the games matter?

How's Lacy been doing with pass protection? That'll be key.
Against Saint Louis, he was in with rodgers in the obvious pass downs and did well (didn't miss any assignments).
Beat writers say he's been good but has the physical tools to be the best at it. He's an ideal physical specimen to deflect raging linebackers and has the lateral agility to cover space and head them off. He didn't have to do a ton of that at Alabama so he's a tad raw but everything has been looking up in that regard. That's why they'll likely be doing a heavy dose of 3rd downs from the shotgun. It's easier to pick up defenders for the RB in the shotgun, which also gives them plenty of lead draw options. This offense could look like the early 90s Cowboys, except they had a much, much better offensive line.

Pretty sure its going to be Starks or Alex Green that now gets the #2 job. Probably Alex Green. Franklin hasn't shown he belongs on the final 53, much less active on game days. (he's gonna make the team, but its because of his draft status, not his play to date.)

Hard to tell on Starks vs. Green.

First it looked like Starks had an inside track at it..but then he got nothing really in the Seattle game.

Green almost sounded this past week like he was on the way out.

Now with Harris hurt...all 4 make the team IMO.

Green may be given a shot to see if he can live up to his potential...but I don't think it would take long to get Starks in there...its not flashy with him...but decently effective.

Yeah, it seems like Alex Green is the #2 for now. I'm guessing the Packers would love to see Franklin take over the #2 job sometime during the season.
