Dwayne Bowe (1 Viewer)

Interesting. I didn't see the game so I had no idea. All I did hear, was that he dropped a number of passes early on. Don't know whether they were poor passes or just bad hands.

With Croyle: 0 TD.

With Huard: 1 TD.

That's a % increase so crazy mathemeticians don't even have a number for it. BUY.

I just ran the numbers on NFL.com...

Croyle: 19 attempts, 7 Bowe targets, 2 completions (one attempt from the 22 so just outside the redzone, and Croyle's only scoring drive near the endzone)

Huard: 12 attempts, 6 Bowe targets, 3 completions (with TD and 2 other redzone attempts)

On the final play of the game Bowe was targetted in the end zone as well. There are two reasons that Bowe's value just went up...1) Croyle seemed to lean on Gonzo whereas Huard leaned on Bowe and, 2) Huard can play QB and Croyle can't.

If I recall right he was targeted three times on that goal line stand. He dropped an easy touchdown on one of those targets. He will be used a lot but it would help if he would catch the ball a little more often.

he had a bunch of drops and should have had a monster game. Huard may not win any more games for KC, but he is going to help Bowe..a LOT (imo, ymmv)

One was for sure just bad hands, and in the end zone too. He'll be fine though, Huard likes him and with so little options he's gonna get his no matter what

Bowe dropped the ball 3 or 4 times that game, and one pass on the goal line series where the ball was in his hands in the endzone.

Dude cannot hang on.

anyone who has followed Bowe / KC QB knows that Huard is the man you want throwing to Bowe.... BIG upgrade of Bowe with Damon slinging it.

I am a D-Bowe owner and watched the KC game. They were doing everything possible to get him the ball. I think he will have a fine season. He was doubled team on most plays, and he could have caught one in the end zone with the corner and FS all over his ###!

I can't quote you the splits, but Bowe's targets, catches and TDs (1) went way up when Huard came into the game.
:goodposting: He looked to Bowe in the end zone multiple times during that final drive. That's the good news. The bad news is the passes were terribly thrown.

Terrible posting. Watched that drive closely and they were really trying to force him the ball -- in situations where he was heavily covered -- and the passes were way off target. Go look at the highlights again.

Yes no matter how obvious it is that Croyle sucks.

Value for all KC O players just went up with Huard in.

I'm always kind of surprised that people will point to someone dropping a bunch of passes as an excuse for "he should have had a better game." I see that kind of rationalizing often. The fact is, Bowe is a great talent and is going to drop passes and that will hinder his stats.I will say, OTOH, having Huard in will really boost his targets, which will help; however, people expecting an uptick in stats because he will start dropping fewer balls, that I don't get.

The last offensive play was a nice pass to Bowe from Huard into the endzone that was broken up by a good play by Delta O'Neal who the Pats just acquired after the Bengals dropped him (!).[/ :lmao: Bengal fans]

Let's not forget the Pats usual game plan includes negating the other team's biggest offensive threat. He should see a little more space in the coming weeks.

While I agree in theory, I think their focus was keeping LJ under 100 / out of the end zone, which they accomplished.Biggest Threats1. LJ2A. Bowe2B. GonzoI own both Bowe and Gonzo and am starting to think it will look more like the following this year:1. LJ2. Bowe3. Gonzo

Was that last pass really broken up? The one on 1st down towards the left looked like it got knocked down... but that last one looked like it simply went through his hands. Judging from Bowe's reaction after the play, I'd say it DEFINITELY didn't get knocked down. He was angry w/ himself because he knew that was a totally catchable ball... and he blew it.I think we'll learn a lot about Bowe's mental make up from how he rebounds from this game.

The first one was a total drop, but on the last play he was looking for a flag. He had a bit of an argument too, IIRC.

Speaking on behalf of LJ owners everywhere, I'm glad the Chiefs finally have a qb who can get the team to the red zone.

on the goal to go series

1st one was to Bowe - dropped

2nd one was to Gonzo

3rd one was to Bowe - should have been PI

Correct me if im wrong, but didn't Huard throw croyle his TD pass? Plus, i think Huard is a better QB anyway. If i am wrong, disregard my first statement, but believe the second.
