Dyansty - D. Samuel for 2021 1st and a slight bit more... (1 Viewer)

My son approached me to see what everyone thinks about this:  Dynasty with salary contracts... 12 teams , standard scoring no PPR, 1Q-1R-2W-1T-1F-1 D&K

he has these WRs:  Thomas, Allen, DJ Moore, Woods, Lazard (trading out, contract issue), with D Samuel.    He got offered 2021 1st, along with 2020 4.01 and 4.11, 2022 3rd & 4th...  and I think he can get 2.12 and te 2020 2nd.  The 4ths would be a waste as we only have 4 TS spots with a maximum of a 2 year commitment...so if he gets a 2020, we could hang onto the player without a contract.

So, would you do:
Samuel, 4.09...  for...   2021 1st (projected top 6, this team has #1 pick this year), 2.12 and 2022 2nd?

I think the counter offer is valued pretty evenly.  He's going to get at least another WR in another offer which could be Julio Jones.

This is completely dependent upon your take on Deebo.  He is quite polarizing.  He has great upside but on a team that spreads stuff out quite a bit and you never know how many touches he will get.  He has a very wide range of outcomes game to game.   If you are sold on him being the explosive player he has shown and think he will get enough touches to be a consistent scorer week to week it is an easy vote for the Deebo side.

If you are more apprehensive and wonder if he will be consistent enough to be a weekly starter then you probably pass.  I am closer to this side so I would probably rather have the top 6 pick.  You already have Thomas, Allen, DJ  as your starters so give me the lottery ticket that could end up with pick 1.01

Thanks Gally,  he did send a counter with Samuel, 4.09 and 2020 3rd (which for his potition usually ends up pick 9 thru 12) as he is always in it.

So are you trying to get Deebo or trying to trade him away?  Who is the team that has Thomas, Allen and DJ Moore?

With those WRs already, the fact you only start 2 plus 1 flex (you don't list his RBs that may also be in flex consideration) I think you trade Deebo away for the future 1st. If you can work it so that he is also getting a future 2nd in lieu of some of those 3rd and 4ths in the initial offer (if I am reading it correctly), then I think it puts it close to no brainer territory as Deebo would likely never be more than a bye week flex, plus if he is adding in a Jones caliber WR (depends who he is giving up in that), it pushed Deebo even further down the depth chart that I would prefer the early future 1st.

If it’s a salary contract league, the salaries of deebo Samuel and the picks would be significant, no?

but like what was just said above. With Thomas allen and dj Moore at the flex it’s not like Samuel would play much. If that pick has a chance to be number one again plus there’s additional picks on top of that I’d roll with the picks.
