[Dynasty] 2015 Running Rookie Rankings (1 Viewer)

ORC

Thought it would be interesting to keep a running value on the 2015 rookies for dynasty purposes. Basically a re-do of 2015 rookie drafts after each week to keep current value on players who may not have played a significant number of games yet. These are subjective, and based on 12 team PPR. I've added some comments as of Week 3.

Round 1

1.01 - Amari Cooper - Looks like an absolute stud

1.02 - Todd Gurley - Still right there with no reason to downgrade

1.03 - Melvin Gordon - Has looked good in limited opportunities

1.04 - Ameer Abdullah - Seems to be the consensus next best after the top 3

1.05 - Marcus Mariota - Possibly a bit high for a QB, but looks to be legit

1.06 - Kevin White - TBD

1.07 - Dorial Green-Beckham - Again has looked good in limited opportunities. Can grow with Mariota.

1.08 - Tevin Coleman - Has looked good when on the field

1.09 - TJ Yeldon - Has had the most opportunities of any rookie RB. Has looked OK but difficulty when constantly playing from behind.

1.10 - DeVante Parker - Opportunity starting to climb. Remains to be seen if a Dolphins WR can be a fantasy stud.

1.11 - Phillip Dorsett - So few snaps. So much production on those snaps. Tons of potential with Andre looking done.

1.12 - Matt Jones - May have already supplanted Alfred Morris. Could rise even higher in the near future.

Round 2

2.01 - Nelson Agholor - Huge preseason expectations. Been on the field a ton and has yet to deliver. Slightly worrisome.

2.02 - Karlos Williams - Wouldn't have a problem moving him higher. McCoy is a roadblock, but arguably the most impressive behind Cooper thus far.

2.03 - Jameis Winston - Hasn't really done anything wrong to date. Will take some time, but feels about right.

2.04 - David Johnson - He's a rookie, so nothing else matters to Bruce Arians. Hopefully can force his way onto the field.

2.05 - Breshad Perriman - Lingering knee issue is worrisome. Was hanging around the bottom of the first, so moving him down a bit is OK.

2.06 - Tyler Lockett - WR upside in Seattle offense may be limited, but electric with ball in his hands.

2.07 - Duke Johnson - Could seize the job in Cleveland. Hasn't done it yet.

2.08 - Devin Funchess - Awful concerning that he can't get onto the field in Carolina.

2.09 - Thomas Rawls - Have to be encouraged by that performance. At this point, stash and hope for the best.

2.10 - Maxx Williams - Could see time start to rise with Gilmore out.

2.11 - Mike Davis - Looked good in limited action.

2.12 - Ty Montgomery - Real shot to make an impact on offense.

To keep in mind... after about the middle of the 2nd round, things are a crapshoot. Hopefully this a good way to estimate the value of trading some of these guys for draft picks.

This is a nice synopsis of how perceived value may have changed regarding these players after the first 3 weeks of the season.

There is a transition that takes place once games are live and the focus ####s from maximizing the upside potential of your roster to making the best use of your resources to help you win games now.

I don't think it is very helpful for me to change rankings that are intended to be focused on the players realizing their potential within their first three seasons after 3 games. So I wouldn't change anything in that regard. There are some players I missed out on such as Matt Jones and Karlos Williams who have looked good in NFL action when I have seen them, but I haven't evaluated them any more than this so I would just say I missed on those guys because I didn't get around to watching them.

The main difference between my rankings and your list is in regards to DeVante Parker who I think should be ranked no lower than 4th.

A bit too reactionary IMO. My list wouldn't have changed much since May.

Bumps to Matt Jones, Thomas Rawls, and Karlos Williams. Long way to go before they're considered top players though.

Kevin White was a top 10 pick in the draft. Highlights and video looked good to me. I don't think his injury is believed to be career-threatening, so to me he's underrated here at 1.06. I had him at 1.01 in May and have been trying to buy now that he is out for a while.

I guess the same logic applies to Perriman, though I never thought that highly of him in the first place. Had Dorsett over Coleman and Yeldon in May. Still feel that way. 2nd-3rd round backs are a crapshoot and neither of those guys has convinced me at all. Rather have the explosive first round WR in the Luck offense.

What about Duke? He has looked good and the competition is flailing. His situation looks better than before.

I offered yeldon for Karlos Williams in dynasty and was rejected fwiw. I also have ameer abdullah, and the newton/palmer/winston owner will not trade me winston for him (smh) in that same dynasty.

Lol at not moving David Johnson up into the top 5. Would take him in dynasty before Yeldon and AA. Maybe even Gurley if not for Arians refusing to play him.
