Even so, one would be wise to wonder whether Tom Brady would ever throw to them or if B.B. would coach them beyond next year.Faust said:2018 NFL Draft prospects that match the Patriots' needs
With Gronkowski talking that retirement is a possibility on the horizon it won't surprise me if the Patriots select a TE in the first 4 rounds with how important the TE position is in their offense.
According to ESPN Giants reporter Jordan Raanan, USC's Sam Darnold is the only quarterback the Giants would take at the No. 2 overall pick.
It sounds like the Giants' scouting grades on Josh Rosen, Baker Mayfield, and Josh Allen simply aren't high enough for GM Dave Gettleman to consider picking one of the non-Darnold quarterbacks at No. 2. Gettleman has a history of drafting running backs high -- he took Christian McCaffrey eighth overall in Carolina last year -- and he never traded down in any round of the draft during four seasons as Panthers GM. Barring Gettleman disregarding his scouts or reversing course on his historical anti-trade-down stance, Penn State RB Saquon Barkley and NC State DE/OLB Bradley Chubb appear to be co-favorites to go at No. 2.

The first mock is current but I had to laugh when an ad for the sight popped up with 2 headlines:
Gridiron Magazine's Simon Clancy passes along that the Miami Dolphins "have been showing very significant interest" in Washington State QB Luke Falk.
Not only did the Dolphins meet with Falk on Washington State's pro day earlier this month, they'll be checking out the Pullman signal-caller in a special throwing session on March 28. This is necessitated by the fact that Falk didn't actually have any receivers to throw to on the aforementioned pro day. As for other potential landing spots for Falk -- viewed as a borderline Day 2 prospect -- keep an eye on the Saints. DraftScout.com's Rob Rang pointed to New Orleans as an ideal fit for the quarterback.

Dan Patrick cites a scouting source saying the Browns are trying to bait the Giants into trading up to pick No. 1 by feigning love for USC QB Sam Darnold.
The trade would be similar to that of Mitchell Trubisky and the Bars last year. Patrick believes the Browns prefer Wyoming's Josh Allen. It has been suggested that the Giants only like Darnold among the top quarterbacks. It was also widely stated, by Joel Klatt, Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks, that Darnold locked up the No. 1 spot following his pro day workout. Again, we have no idea what will happen, but this is something to keep in mind for the next month.

Actually, I believe Josh Allen is the guy Browns are preparing to take as their QB of the future. They already have Tyrod Taylor as bridge QB and is known for strong arm and athleticism especially on the run. I dont think Browns want to revamp their entire offense scheme to cater Taylor's (and Allen's) skill set. At least I know for sure is Browns' intention and belief to have their rookie QB to sit and learn for a whole year.If the Browns go Josh Allen, it will negate everything they've done up until this point and be a typical "Browns" move. I'd love every second of it.
Wait - they don't want to build their offense to fit the QB they just signed and the one (you think) they want to draft?Actually, I believe Josh Allen is the guy Browns are preparing to take as their QB of the future. Pro Football Focus lists Colorado State WR Michael Gallup as the wide receiver with the best drop rate of any draft-eligible player at the position in the red zone.
Gallup's drop rate from the 20 in? That would be 0.0. Every other player in the class has a drop rate of at least 7.7, with Boise State's Cedrick Wilson coming in second behind the former Ram wideout. Gallup has some concerns from some analysts about his fluidity and ability to make impact plays, but his ability to hang onto the football isn't among those concerns. He should be off the board before the end of the second round.

Northern Iowa WR Daurice Fountain added visits with the Rams and Colts.
Fountain is now up to eight visits, a great number for a non-Combine receiver. Fountain displayed NFL caliber talent during East-West Shrine week. A third-day selection is almost certainly in his future.

No DJ Moore? Am I missing something?
The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins expect to miss out on the draft's top quarterbacks.
The Dolphins pick at No. 11 but believe each of Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield will be off the board by then. The Dolphins have been strongly connected to Mayfield, but his stock seems to have solidified into that of a top-10 pick. The Dolphins are no strangers to bold moves but it seems they are not willing to trade up at the moment.

Oklahoma State QB Mason Rudolph worked out with Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton this week.
"It was a cool opportunity to throw with a guy like that and see how you stack up and also grab a tidbit of information, mechanics advice here and there," Rudolph said. The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder explained that he and Dalton went over the route tree and that Dalton offered up advice about the post-draft acclimation that Rudolph will experience with his NFL-team-to-be. He's in an interesting place for a potential Day 1 selection, as we're fully expecting a heavy string of quarterback picks early -- up to four could conceivably fly off the board in the top-10 picks -- which could naturally cause fringe Round 1 prospects such as Rudolph and Lamar Jackson to be drafted higher than the current general consensus would have it.
