Davis has no business being on that list.
My vote is for White.

Very shortsighted. In a dynasty rookie draft, particularly ppr leagues, people will be constantly having to weigh that decision mid-first round. We have no pre-season to go on and a number of things can play out between now and late August.
Davis has mold-breaking metrics and would probably have to be considered more of a sure thing than either two backs at this point.
Where were those mold-breaking metrics during the regualr season at Maryland? Lewis was able to outperform him on the field, yet another work out warrior leaps up draft boards from a measly workout. I think those looking at these "measurables" are the ones being shortsighted.
Here's how his measurables served him:

Davis led all
wrs & tes in his conference despite having a sub-par qb.
I have no issue with someone picking White or Addai above Davis, but to say he's not in the discussion is flippant. We are suppose to beleive that the 5 running backs that will be chosen before Davis will be less valuable or productive to your dynasty fantasy team?
It's not just about that, you have to factor in the supply and demand. RBs are hard to get a hold of. I have 3 studly TEs on my FF team already and they go for peanuts in trades. Most wouldn't take Heap for pick 1.05. Why in the world would Davis be in the discussion then?
I understand the supply and demand aspect, but you still have to evaluate talent in a rookie draft. Like I said, we haven't looked at pre-season action, so a number of things can shake out. Taking an rb for the sake of rb is a strategy, but the NFL (and dynasty rosters) is beginning to be glutted with talented rbs who are part-time players. Some have projected Davis at the Gates-Gonzales level, but if he has a career like Heap's, that has to be considered a good pick. In ppr and te-required leagues, these guys are extremely valuable. I won't make a judgement on him until I see him in the preseason, but I have a feeling he will translate very well to the NFL.
Bottom-line, it's weighing the chance of drafting a stud rb at pick 5 or 6 vs. what you think may be a special player- be it Vince Young or Vernon Davis.
It's definitely worth a debate.
