Dynasty format.

No points per receptions

Tight Ends are not required however the only starting formation that allows 2 RB's also includes a TE so if you don't have a TE, you're limited.

Who would you select?

Not enough info.

General rankings have Addai and Lendale BOTH over VD.

Good luck, you're getting a good player.

When given the chance in one draft, I chose White over Addai and Davis.

In another draft, I wasn't given a choice. I took the guy that fell to me: Addai.

All about the situation/system here...

Addai is coming into the perfect situation for a running back, White may struggle for a while. Easy call, IMO...

I disagree. It's all about talent and ability here... it's a dynasty league. White wins hands down in that department.

You can have all the talent and ability in the world and still be down the depth chart. The situation counts for plenty. See Ryan Leaf, Akili Smith, Ki-Jana Carter, etc...

I don't think those examples really support your argument. I would contend that all of the players you mentioned had fatal flaws. Leaf had a serious attitude problem. Smith didn't think fast enough (according to Madden). Carter tore up his knee. I agree with jurb. Situation is of minimal consideration. I'd take White. He should start next season and is my pick to lead the rookie class in rushing yards and rushing TDs.

I'm not seeing your point, mightyeskimo. You just named a whole bunch of players that were either busts from the talent perspective or injury perspective. Both players have an = chance of busting off of talent at this point and niether has a major injury history. Right now, there is more speculation that Addai will be down the depth chart than White. I stand by my statement. White has more talent and will also be more likely to start IMO.

Although, IMHO White will put up better numbers in the first 4 or 5 years, Addai will have the longevity. So it depends what you seek.

I tend to lean more towards drafting talent than situation. My concern with LenDale lies in his lackadaisical approach. Stellar athletes can get by in college without having Walter Payton-like work ethics, but they tend to wash out of the pros quickly. Had my draft been 3 months ago this would've been an easy decision, but everything coming out of White's yap has been a cause for concern. However what White has accomplished on the field can't be ignored.

Any Titans homers hear any news regarding contract talks for White? The Titans won't have a lot of flexibility and if White suddenly gets an overinflated self worth I could see a holdout brewing. Not a good scenario for a guy who seemingly needs coaching supervision just to remain in game shape. Any news on this front? I hope I don't come off as sounding like somebody inventing a news story. It just seems like every decision White has made post- Rose Bowl has been poor. At this point a holdout would be par for the course.

I think it all goes back to what coach Chow said after the draft in that White was the most misunderstood player in the draft.

One thing all the White supporters could be forgetting... how many TDs will Vince Young vulture down the road? I have yet to see this mentioned in these treads.

If Young can run the way you are expecting him to in the NFL then I don't see how that hurts the running game or White at all. Look at what Vick does for the Atl running game by forcing DE and LB contain/spy tech. There maybe some vultured TD, but I would imagin they are over compensated for by added rushing lanes and yds.

Davis has no business being on that list.

My vote is for White.

 Very shortsighted. In a dynasty rookie draft, particularly ppr leagues, people will be constantly having to weigh that decision mid-first round. We have no pre-season to go on and a number of things can play out between now and late August.

Davis has mold-breaking metrics and would probably have to be considered more of a sure thing than either two backs at this point.

I just hope that White's ADP stays around #5 so I can get him with the 1.05 pick when we draft for our keeper league in August.

Luckily for me, in my opinion, the guy that drafts 1.04 has Edge and Rhodes, so I would be very surprised to see him take someone other than Addai if he is available.

Where would Addai have been taken in fantasy drafts if he was thrown in last year's draft class? My guess is not in the top 4 or 5. The situation is good, there is no denying, but so was JJ Arrington's. I look to capitalize on White's perceived problems. Norm Chow likes him and that is enough for me.

Where were those mold-breaking metrics during the regualr season at Maryland? Lewis was able to outperform him on the field, yet another work out warrior leaps up draft boards from a measly workout. I think those looking at these "measurables" are the ones being shortsighted.

Here's how his measurables served him:http://collegefootball.rivals.com/indleaders.asp?Team=UNC

Davis led all wrs & tes in his conference despite having a sub-par qb.

I have no issue with someone picking White or Addai above Davis, but to say he's not in the discussion is flippant. We are suppose to believe that all of the 5 running backs that will be chosen before Davis will be more valuable or productive to your dynasty fantasy team?

It's not just about that, you have to factor in the supply and demand. RBs are hard to get a hold of. I have 3 studly TEs on my FF team already and they go for peanuts in trades. Most wouldn't take Heap for pick 1.05. Why in the world would Davis be in the discussion then?

I understand the supply and demand aspect, but you still have to evaluate talent in a rookie draft. Like I said, we haven't looked at pre-season action, so a number of things can shake out. Taking an rb for the sake of rb is a strategy, but the NFL (and dynasty rosters) is beginning to be glutted with talented rbs who are part-time players. Some have projected Davis at the Gates-Gonzales level, but if he has a career like Heap's, that has to be considered a good pick. In ppr and te-required leagues, these guys are extremely valuable. I won't make a judgement on him until I see him in the preseason, but I have a feeling he will translate very well to the NFL.

Bottom-line, it's weighing the chance of drafting a stud rb at pick 5 or 6 vs. what you think may be a special player- be it Vince Young or Vernon Davis.

It's definitely worth a debate.

Davis would be my second choice. Sometimes the safest pick is the best pick. I'd take Davis or DeAngelo Williams or Joseph Addai, but I happen to like White enough to justify taking him over the higher-rated prospect. Nevertheless, there's absolutely nothing wrong with taking Davis in the top 5. It might not be good value when you consider where you can get Lewis, but he's a better prospect than any of the RBs not named Bush.

I voted Addai, the situation is perfect for him, he can catch the ball out of the back field, he blocks well and he can run the ball. The colts arent going to to waste their first round pick for a guy who will be on the bench. And his other fault would be is he durable enough, but White didnt carry a full load either and just because he has more size doesnt equal durability. Dont forget that some of the most durable RB's aren't always the biggest( Barber/Martin ). Addai will be a stud in that offense.

IMO its Addai. I have said this before and i will say it again,he Will be a top 10 FF RB by 07...Take it to the bank. Dig up this thread later if you want...

Joseph Addai TD 40 YARD RUN. I like what im hearing out of Indy. There is risk with any rookie, but I like this kids chances.
