[Dynasty] Bye weeks (1 Viewer)

Forgive me if this was discussed. I'm in a large roster dynasty league 25 players. No IDP.

At the end of the year there are minimal cuts. Anyway during redrafts you can draft accordingly to cover your bye weeks and if not work the waiver wirer for filler. Luckily I am not in a bad place with week 6 and 7 but other owners aren't so lucky.

Is there a fair way since bye weeks change every year and some teams could lose all there RB for a week.

Since your rosters carry over year to year and you are at the mercy of the schedulers has anyone come up with a fair way to skip a week maybe?

Pretty much we go with the you SOL attitude and it's just one of those thing and you chalk of the L.

But all the discussions of the teams of this week got me to thinking of a way to maybe approach giving fantasy bye weeks for 1 week, or before a week starts say week 3 that you want your week 3 score to count for week 9.

I know this is a bit of a reach but was trying to get some ideas other then I'm screwed for week 9.

I think it is best the way it is. Yes that is one problem with dynasty that you don't know what the bye weeks are going to be next year, but you also don't know what your players are going to do next year and it also encourages trading as you scramble to fill your bye week hole.

just my .02

Yep, I think the SOL approach is probably the best because it encourages more managing/decision making, but if you are looking for any kind of other suggestions ... we have an option (for kickers only, since we have short rosters, limited cuts, and no one wants to waste a spot or a move on an extra kicker) to use the kicker's average points to date for that week.

Two things: 1. Average of points accumulated only while he is on your roster - to avoid the "grab a kicker who is on bye in week 3 after a pair of 15 point games" thing; and 2. We use whole points, so it's in writing that kicker bye week averages are rounded up to the nearest whole number.

I would think making kicker moves unlimited is an easier solution than this.
