Dynasty -Cover 2 CB's (1 Viewer)

I need IDP masters to help me out here. I saw some offseason threads about how cover 2 CB's rank around 15-30 in the DB's rankings (CB + S) right after the strong safties a and stud FS. It just doesn't seem they're showing up there this year. The reason I ask is that I've got a couple sleeper Cover 2 CB's that I'm thinking about adding in my dynasty league - We start 3 and carry about 5-6 per each team in a 12 team Zealots league. My sleepers are Justin Miller, who also gets return yardage, and Marlin Jackson.Jackson could very well be a starter next year, taking Harpers starting gig and Miller is just a matter of time, plus he gets the return yardage. But Barrett and Harper are not top 30 scoring DB's - 1 pt per tackle, 1/2 per assist, 1 pt for pass defended, 3 for interceptions, 2 for forced or recovered fumble. Should I pick up my sleepers? It would dropping one or two of Bodden (Cle), Mike Doss (Ind), or maybe Dwight Smith (NO), Rashean Mathis (Atl), Warfield (KC), or Manuel (Sea).

The key is to find the Cover 2 guys who are willing and active in run support. They'll get you the extra 3-4 tackles you need when they're not making any big plays (PD, INT, etc) especially in your tackle heavy scoring system to keep your lineup more consistent. Marlin Jackson could be a very nice player. That dude has no problem hitting and he seems to be around the ball a lot. I think you could cut Bodden for him for sure. Mathis, Warfield, and Manuel are all equal or better options than Bodden in your starting lineup anyhow.

I don't have any strong options on Justin Miller.

Eric Warfield is not a classic Cover 2 corner, but he's aggressive in run support, averaging 62 tackles a season over the past two years. Coming back from his injury, he's had two nine tackle games and one eleven tackle game so far. If you get that from a CB, it's gold.

Sure has been a frustrating year. CB's seem to get 8-10 points a week for X weeks straight until I pick them up and start them. Mathis for example.

Miller seems to be progressing slowly and I am not sure of his starting prospects next year.that said, I did pick him up to stash on my roster because of his return skills.

For what its worth, I think Jackson has tremendous upside. He's a nice fit in the Colt D. He has the potential to be one of the better cover 2 corners.

I've got Jackson on a Zealot team and am happy with his development. I usually avoid CBs, but I've got Tillman and Jackson.Tillman's a monster.
