Dynasty League - Keep or trade Derrick Henry (1 Viewer)

I just got into my first dynasty league through a dispersal draft. I had what I think is a great draft, good enough to be a strong contender for the league championship this year. I got Jonathan Taylor, Derrick Henry, and AJ Dillon as startable running backs, plus drafted Cook and Pacheco in my rookie draft. I know Henry's trade value is on the verge of deteriorating due to age and mileage. Do I trade him now while I can still get good value, or should I keep him and shoot for that title this year?

Without knowing the rest of your roster, if they compare to your RB core, you should be in Win Now Mode. I would stand pat and go for the title, knowing full well what you could get for Henry now will likely dwarf what you could get for him in 2023. Accept that and play to win.

Of course, I would reconsider if your other starters are Van Jefferson, KJ Osborn, Brevin Jordan and Joe Flacco, .

League starts 8 offensive players (1 QB, 1-2 RB, 2-4 WRs. 1-2 TE, 1 PK) and 11 IDPs (1-2 DT, 1-2 DE, 3-4 LB, 2-3 CB, 2-3 S). Startables are Allen or Cousins at QB, Taylor, Henry, and Dillon at RB, Diggs, A. Robinson, and Lazard at WR, and Kelce at TE. IDP group is OK at DL and CB and above average at LB and S.

Yeah, stand pat and play to win this year

I would differ seeing that you can only start two RB's. That being the case one of Henry, Taylor, and Dillon will not be playing each week. I think that is lost value as I am a big believer in Dillon. I would definitely shop Henry now and try and get back a startable RB2 with upside for depth and help elsewhere or picks for future. You are strong enough with your starting requirements to get value for Henry now. I would put him on the block and see what kind of offers come in. Worst case scenario there is nothing you like and you press on with Henry. Best case you get a nice deal that helps your depth and future without losing much for this year.

Put him on the block and see what happens.
