Dynasty league owners (1 Viewer)

Do your leagues use the IR and under what stipulation do your league use it under?

Im my leagues we use the Injured Reserve BUT a player but be noted as OUT or IR on the official injury report that comes out on Wen and Fri. Once they have been noted that but the official report you may IR them, BUT they will stay deactivated for 45 days. The IR roster spot dont count against your active rosters so you will have a free roster spot when you IR someone and have to drop someone to make room for them also when you wanna reactivate a player.

any of you guys use the IR like this?

In the leagues I am in that use IR, the player has to be on the official NFL listing. basically, he must be out for the season.

Exactly the same for our league: the player must be listed on IR officially by the NFL.

Ours is a 5 player Keeper League, so you might not want to drop a player that you are considering keeping (the Dom Davis owner this year). I don't see any value in using IR for redraft leagues.

Our league uses the Official report too only thing is if they have a player as OUT you can IR him in our dynasty also. But alot of players are listed OUT for one week, but if you IR him say bye bye to him for 45 days. We dont use Probable or Doubtful....though

I think its very interesting like that...you have to be smart when to IR someone unless they are out for the year.

To be honest, the whole 45 day thing sounds unnecessarily fiddly and a lot of extra work for your commish.

2 of my 3 dynasty leagues, the player must be on the official IR report.

The 3rd is essentially another roster spot, anything goes and you can move up or down on a whim.

We do not use IR, but our roster size is 18 so it isn't too much of an issue. But if you have a lot of injuries, you usually have to drop someone. Or the an extra defense or kicker. We also cut down to 13 players in August for a re-stocking draft.

Our league is not quite dynasty, it's a 5 man keeper league. We can protect 5, but no more than 2 per position. During the season you may place 1 player on IR, if you so desire. That player must be on the official NFL injury report as being placed on IR by his respective franchise. This fantasy roster move is allowed once in the season per fantasy franchise. (I do not care for this aspect of our rules, but the league voted for this set-up.) He is there for good if you place him on IR, so you had better be sure that is what you want to do. We currently have G. Jones and D. Davis IR'd in our league.

That sounds like a problem, especially with the condensed bye week schedule this year. A couple players on bye, a couple rookies that are not starter worthy, but have big upside, and then you get a star player that goes down (i.e. you want to keep him for next year) and your starting lineup does not have a good chance of winning.

I'll agree with the 45 day part, Undercover Bro...that will be a major headache. Make it that once on IR they MUST stay there until the season. Just put it somewhere in the rules that End season = NFL superbowl or Pro bowl. Start of the season all rosters must be at required levels and such.We have it that it goes off of official report, which is what MFL uses to put their I's and other designations on the players. If by chance MFL has not updated it, if the owner can produce a link to an official transaction showing it..not newpaper reporting, blogger and such, then we allow it. We only have 3 spots and it's full IDP roster too. Stay there until the end of the season and if an owner gets a 4th guy, then he has to think about which one he's going to cut for good.Make it simple now to save headaches later...

Contract league here, we allow any contracted player to be placed on IR regardless of his status...but once he's on, he's there for the year, like the NFL...

Actually, if you are using MFL, that's part of the IR setup. You can specify how many days they stay on IR until they can be reactivated. The system manages it all for you.Having said that, in the Zealots leagues you can move a guy to IR if he's listed as OUT or on the NFL IR list, but then he's there until the end of the season. You can also move a guy on the PUP there, but since the NFL injury report doesn't list those guys the commish has to do that for you. I'd like to see a 6-8 week period on the IR instead of the full season.

Must be officially listed as out. One league, if you IR a player, they are out for the season for you. In another, when they are no longer listed as out, you have to have them on your active roster, or they will be put dropped from your roster after 1 week if you don't activate them.

We use a similar system to Undercover Bro, but it's a little more lieniant. We allow up to 2 IR spots, player must be Doubtful or Out on the official report, and a player must stay unavailable on the IR for 3 weeks if placed there. However, we allow 1 emergency callup per year where you can get a player back before his 3 weeks are up.

Another league that says they must be on the NFL IR here.
Same here. 7-keeper contract league. We don't limit the number of IR'ed players, and it still counts as a year toward their contract. (So no point in IR-ing someone on a 1-year contract.)
