You've already completed step #1, utilizing this forum. Subscribing to this site will help get you a lot of tools which will help out as well. There is one tool that breaks down a players trends pretty much however you want. It's worth it.#2 is gather as much information you can on the rookies coming into the league.use this site www.nfldraftguys.com as they have very good insite. If you have lower rookie picks you may want to wait until right around draft time when the rookie hype is at it's max and trade your low 1st early 2nd for a 3rd year WR who may get his crack at the starting lineup (Chad Jackson for instance). Otherwise, analyze the draft and see who's being overlooked in the 2nd and 3rd rounds (James Jones and Greg Jennings come to mind immediately here).Finding a Maurice Jones-Drew isn't easy that's for sure, but if you take the info you gather and identify areas where you see potential you'll hit the bullseye a time or two.I thought the same thing you did about my dynasty league two years ago as one owner had LT, LJ, and Lamont Jordan. i figured that he'd run away with championship after championship. Well, it didn't work out that way and lo and behold my 10th round pick in 2003 is taking me to a magical playoff run (Brady).I had the worst team in the league after the initial draft due to never playing dynasty before. However, I was able to trade away the talent I had to rebuild. I also took advantage of other owners giving up on players too soon. It's not instinct, it's about doing your homework. One last note would be to join and IDP league. In those leagues it's a little easier to do more homework as the other guys because I think only 25% on average IDP owners actually know most of the defensive players in the league and how they fit into their schemes, etc. Try that out. Plus, trading Defensive studs for offensive studs and then finding the next defensive stud is a lot of fun and not too hard.
