These are consensus dynasty rankings for year 2007 1pt./tackle .5pt assist 3pt./sack or interception 2pt. forced fumble/fumble recovery 1pt./pass defensed.

If you vote other, please specify.

Also, please comment on your vote, and list any player that should be nominated for the next round. By doing this we can get some good information about players being considered here and why. If everyone contributes then each poll position can be similar to a player spotlight. That is idealy what I would like to see. I definitly need feedback on what players you think should be on these polls that may not be. I do not have as much knowledge of IDPs as I do offensive players so all of the good players on defense are not neccessarily in my forward memory banks so to speak. So I need some help from the rest of your there.

1. Keith Bulluck 4/4/1977

2. Demeco Ryans 7/28/1984

3. Brian Urlacher 5/25/1978

4. AJ Hawk 1/6/1984

5. Will Witherspoon 8/19/1980

6. Jonathan Vilma 4/16/1982

7. Lofa Tatupu 11/15/1982

8. Shawne Merriman 5/25/1984

9. Lance Briggs 11/12/1980

10. Kirk Morrison 2/19/1982

11. Ernie Sims 12/23/1984

12. Antonio Pierce 10/26/1978

13. Mike Peterson 6/17/1976

14. London Fletcher 5/19/1975

15. Bart Scott 8/18/1980

16. Andra Davis

17. Ray Lewis 5/15/1975

Went with Brackett. I did not feel that I could go with June since his situation is somewhat unknown as to where he will go. I would have also considered Ray Lewis here.

I'd like to see Dansby on the list soon. I wouldn't vote for him yet, but he's ahead of some of the other guys on the list.

I haven't looked at the prior results, but Spikes would come off the list for me for awhile.

Vilma being anywhere near the top twenty is a joke.

He's a talent that's been buried by the system and he's hardly worth using as a #4 starter in the scoring systems I'm involved with.

Pick your poision but don't impose '05's list on '06 and '07.

If you don't include Trotter (due to age) then look for his replacement (Gaither) to be in the top 20-25 soon. Maybe a little high but this kid made plays down the stretch.

(I voted for Crowell. Dansby is a likely candidate for inclusion; Brooking, Barnett and Spikes are droppable. Any system that includes sacks at 3 points/each (plus another point for the tackle) has to boost Merriman's value: 17 in 12 games is fairly substantial.)

I will add Dansby, Trotter and Gaither on the next list.

I added Brooking and Spikes when people suggested Crowell and Williams. I figured that was only fair considering how good those 2 players have been over thier careers.

Demorrio Williams has to come off this list IMO.

The guys I'd list at this point are:

Brackett

Lewis

Hayes

Dansby

Thomas

Edwards

June

Derrick Johnson

Adalius

Ware

Crowell

Looking over the EOY LB rankings, I can't believe how little Demarcus Ware was talked about this season in IDP land. He's not Merriman, but he's no slouch either. Even as a 3-4 OLB, he has to get some consideration. Dude finished 7th in Zealots scoring.

Hmm well how do I do this then?

It seems we have come to a point where peoples opinions on which Lbers should be considered in this range diverges.

I have 15 voting slots available. I add players whenever someone recomends them.

I can drop all players who did not get votes and only add them when they are recomended again.

Someone voted for other in this poll without saying who they voted for. That doesen't help much.

That comment about Ware is right on.. ..he just inched and slipped and slid until he showed up as a top ten-er. I've got him in a traditional Z League and I just had a hard time getting used to starting him....took about a half a season to get comfortable with him.Reason why is he's not consitent, he's a big gamer and (hint) seems to enjoy the national spotlight games. He's a sure start in a big televised game, seems to do better at home but his only sure bet is to light it up one week and tank it the next two. He's likely to score real big because he's a big play guy in a big play scheme. He's not a high tackle guy where he's got the game funneled to him and he feeds on tackles. He feeds on sacks and FF and FR's and defending the pass type stats so he's best against the teams that throw it a lot.So, yes....Ware is going to have to be included and he's got every right to to voted as #18 when he gets listed. A major oversight for the voters, kinda like OBama (plays for Bama of course).

It's up to you... what I did last season was drop anyone who got 0 votes for a bit.

Discretion is the Better part of Valor. It all comes down to judgement and the back-up knowledge that's included in making the case.

Take for instance Omar Gaither whom I mention in lieu of Trotter. Turns out that Gaither is a fill-in for McCoy at SLB, which means that even though he did a good job, he's not in #18 realm....not even a factor, not even close.

PHI will also target LB's in the draft, making it less than a sure thing that Gaither will be on the field in '07.

Moral of the story: just because somebody throws out a name does not make it worth of inclusion. Ware is an obvious ommission. Why? Because he did finish up there, in the top ten, in most scoring systems that don't plug tackles at over blown ratios.

The key to getting included is either having done it, moving to a team or position that is a real boost, having some factor than actual production that is getting a guy included. The key to Dynasty is spotting the change curve and being on the incoming wave of the Sunamis, That's why we're posting to this thread, to find the situatiuon or the position change or the exceptional circumstance that's of benefit.

For instance, Kiwika Mitchell who is traditionally scorned in this space yet he's a UFA. If he signs with the right team and is put into a differet mix, a different system, a different on the field mix, he's top 20 + material as he's all ready top 20 material in last year's scoring in most leagues.... a borderline top twenty guy now, perhaps better than that if he stays healthy and get's an increase in circumstance.
