[Dynasty] MJD - Maroney vs AP (#1 pick) (1 Viewer)

Team Legacy

I'd like the board's opinion on the value of Maurice Jones Drew and Laurence Maroney.

Two studly rookies that came on and had great rookie seasons.

Adrian Peterson is arguably the # 1 pick coming up.

Is AP's value HIGHER than either Drew or Maroney? These 2 have PROVEN their UPSIDE.

I would venture to guess the AP's upside is Stephen Jackson area, ie: elite

I personally as a MJD and Maroney owner couldn't see myself giving either up for AP, but would be highly intrigued by an offer.

Peterson is certainly more highly-regarded than either of those two players were entering the draft, but that doesn't necessarily mean much (see: William Green vs. Clinton Portis). A lot of it will depend on who drafts him. There's not much light at the end of the tunnel in Houston or Cleveland right now given the QB situations. It's different story for Denver and the New York teams (who might also take a RB in round one).

Regardless of what happens to Peterson, I'd be reluctant to give up Maroney right now because he seems like a very safe pick. He's going to be the workhorse back on a team with a great QB and a great coaching staff. Even if he's only a slightly above average talent, he should produce good stats.

Drew is the wild card. Maybe he's the next Brian Westbrook or maybe he just got a little lucky this past year. It's probably a decent time to move him considering how much heat/hype he has right now. I'd probably trade him for Peterson, but it also depends on format. Drew is a much bigger threat in the passing game.

It's tough to gauge the value of young RBs. A few years back, Julius Jones looked like a stud. Now? Not so much. The reality is that we're operating with very little knowledge on these guys. A handful of games just isn't enough to yield any strong evidence. I wouldn't be surprised to see any one of these three easily outscore the other two, but I also don't have a clue which one will ultimately be worth the most.

My advice is to decide whose talent you most believe in and place your bets on him.

Personally, I think you should package them and trade them to Blob for the #1 :gang1:

You've got far too many difficult decisions to make every week.
