snorlax

Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
As a continuation of the work OZ (and Tick) did in his positional dynasty polls, I am going to run a series of polls on overall player rankings in a dynasty league. This will allow us to see both how people's values of the players have changed in the last couple of months and how people value the players relative to each other across positions. I am going to attempt to get as many of these done before the NFL Draft as possible because player values will fluctuate wildly at that point, and I may just let OZ take over with a new series of position polls at that point. (I am also doing this before the Draft because some of us have fantasy drafts starting that day.) In order to make this most applicable to everyone, let's assume a standard lineup and scoring rules.

Standard fbg scoring rules:

1 pt per 10 yards rushing/receiving

6 pts per rushing/receiving TD

1 pt per 20 yards passing

4 pts per passing TD

-1 per INT

3 pts per FG

1 pt per XP

Lineup:

1 QB

2 RB

3 WR

1 TE

1 RB/WR/TE flex

1 K

1 D

I started this poll by including the top ten players in the staff rankings plus the consensus top rookie. I don't expect these polls to mirror the staff rankings, and there should be some interesting discussion as a result, but I will add the next players to the poll from the staff rankings if necessary. I would prefer to add players only after they have gotten a couple of other votes in the previous poll. Some of these players probably won't get any votes for now, but I'm not going to temporarily remove them as OZ did because I don't think the clutter among the poll choices will be an issue for now. Anyway, on to the rankings.

1. RB LaDainian Tomlinson, SD

2. RB Larry Johnson, KC

3. RB Shaun Alexander, SEA

4. RB Clinton Portis, WAS

5. RB Steven Jackson, STL

6. RB Ronnie Brown, MIA

7. (Runoff) RB Cadillac Williams, TB

8. RB Reggie Bush, NCAA

9. (Runoff) RB Lamont Jordan, OAK

10. RB Willis McGahee, BUF

11. QB Peyton Manning, IND

12. (Runoff) RB DeAngelo Williams, NCAA

13. WR Larry Fitzgerald, ARI

14. RB Edgerrin James, ARI

Who is the #15 player to have in a dynasty league? If you vote other please list the player. If you think someone else should be added next round let me know.

I will probably put the next poll up either tonight or in the morning.

Ditto.

...I wonder how far Barber will fall?
Pretty far IMO. A 31 year old RB doesn't crack my top 30 for dynasty. As for this poll, I'm going with THolt. I like Chad Johnson here as well, but the situation with Palmer gave the slight edge to Holt.

Lets see...hmmm

CJ or Rudi?

WR or RB?

hmmmm

pretty sure most will agree that RB is more valuable due to scarcity

now how many times has Chad Johnson had back to back 1400/12 seasons?

answer NONE

Rudi? how about 2 in a row

if you pass on RUDI what will you see at RB your next pass? NOT 1400/12

of course you wont see a CJ type WR either but you sure will find one with numbers that as a % wont be far off

RUDI RUDI

 I wouldn't take Rudi ahead of Tiki.

how can you have J Jones, T Barber, and A Gates as options but not D McNabb? :hot:
His #1 Wideout is Reggie Brown? He can't stay healthy?

He's QB4 at best.
First off I dissagree with you. But lets assume that you are right. Is the number 4 Qb not more valuable than the 12th RB??!!

I won't touch Rudi after what he did to me last year, I traded him for Tatum right before started blowing up. I was worried about Chris Perry. :ptts: :ptts: :ptts: :ptts:

Dude scored like 3 TD's first half of the season 10 the second

you would take Rudi over Tiki in a dynasty  i can see it, but you will need to look to move him sooner then later due to his age

you worried all for not ....his yardage numbers were still pretty respectable in a ppr league(20.8, 9.8, 9.4, 8.8, 9.3, 14.8, 7.6, 7.7, 17.7 got you to their bye in week 10)you just had to figure the TDs would come

Chris Perry might be a starter sooner then later but he wont be putting Rudi on the bench it will be in another uni or because Rudi is in another uni

I'm considering either 1. Doing a runoff with Chad and Rudi and starting the next poll or 2. Giving Chad this spot, Rudi the next spot, and starting the next poll. I'll give this a few minutes to see how it plays out.

Brady and McNabb are in the next group of players that I want to add. I might take off Jamal, TO, and Boldin since they have no votes right now, add Brady, McNabb, and Deuce and anyone else that is requested, and then put the other guys back in when I have room.

I wouldn't worry so much about adding guys that won't be winning the vote. But if you were to add a couple guys to replace CJ and Rudi, it should be Deuce and Brady.

Bengal runoff
I guess it doesn't hurt to have a runoff, and it will be fun to have the Bengals' Johnsons go head-to-head ( ). I am hoping for a repeat of the Manning/Williams and Bush/Jordan runoffs.
