[Dynasty] Owens - 4 more solid seasons left? (1 Viewer)

What are your guys' take on 32 year old Terrell Owens in a dynasty league? Historically, not many WR's have done well into their mid-30's but with the recent success of 35 year old WR's Jimmy Smith, Rod Smith, and McCardell it has me thinking about Owens' longevity. At 32 he could have 4 or more seasons at a high level considering the condition that he keeps himself in.

I think he could definitely continue to perform at a high level. He's a physical freak.

The issue with him is more his attitude and if he can keep it in check for four more years without hurting his production.

Risk/Reward situation. To me, the risk is not worth the reward. There are plenty of other players who have lower FF production potential I'd rather have just based on the fact that he may freak out and sit in Parcells dog house.

Physically, Owens is probably the "youngest" 32-year old in football. The guy is obsessed with physical fitness and proper nutrition.

The NFL will probably kick Owens out of the League before Father Time does.

Its possible. Just remember that the older they get, the increased likelyhood of injury. I think Owens could play at a high level for 4 years if he's healthy. I wouldnt put too much dynasty stock into him. His age right now is about when guys like him begin heading downhill. He has a long way he could drop and still be productive though.

The problem with Owens is that his game is based almost strictly on physical dominance. I tend to think that this kind of WR is far more prone to the effects of aging than are the finesse WRs like Harrison and Holt.

A majority of the starting RBs in the NFL now will be gone or replaced in the next 3-4 years, while Owens will be still playing.

So, yes.
