I am middle of the road and with Rex and Leinart as my backups, I am wondering what trades you have seen with Peyton?????

the only players more valueble than Peyton Manning in a dynasty league are LT and LJ.

I would have to get a top 10 RB in his place.

Alexander (healthy)

Portis

S. Jackson

R. Brown

I wouldn't trade Peyton Manning in a dynasty unless I received LT or some ridiculous offer back in return.

In your situation...trade Matt Leinart. There is little risk with Peyton and you'll still receive solid value for Leinart.

I have Manning in a dynasty league. I would have to get Ronnie Brown and Chad Johnson for him. I would have to get LJ and a top 5 rookie pick for him. I would have to get Eli Manning and Rudi Johnson and Darrel Jackson for him and a low low 1st rookie pick. I would have to get Reggie Bush and Vick and the #1 overall rookie pick for Manning and the 8th plus pick.

Manning is pure gold. Build your team around him. Have a down season or two and improve your team through the draft. Don't trade him unless you get a GREAT deal for young players.

Depends on your league setup. In mine, TDs from a QB are worth 6. I'm not even sure I would trade him for LT or LJ.

How would you rate McNabb compared with Manning? The only edge that I can think of that Manning has over McNabb is durability.

Last week I offered McNabb straight up for him and got turned down.

I think asking for a top 10 RB and a top WR is a little steep for a QB.

I picked Manning up a couple weeks ago in my dynasty league from an owner that had a pretty poor team aside from Manning that is ... I gave up Pennington, Kellen Clemens, Vince Young, Jones-Drew, Chris Chambers, Hinse Ward, Bo Scaife, D'Qwell Jackson .. in return I got Manning, Jim Sorgi, Thomas Jones, Braylon Edwards, LJ Smith, and a 3rd round rookie pick in a 14 team IDP league.

Manning fits right in with LT on my squad, it's just a shame I haven't got to start him yet since last week the trade didn't go down till just around kick-off and this week I started Bulgar .. Manning outscored Bulgar this week in my league by 2.4 pts so no big deal!

Earlier this season (maybe in the preseason) this trade went down in one of my dynasty leagues.

Manning for Westbrook and Ward.

The team that traded Manning also had McNabb and Brady. It is PPR league with .04 points for passing yards, 4 for passing TDs, and -2 for Ints, 3 pts for a 300 yd passing game.

This is ridiculous.

Headed into this week (haven't re-run the numbers after this week's games yet) in my league which is pretty standard scoring for QBs (25yds/point, 4pt TDs) Peyton is averaging...

1 point per game less than Mcnabb per game

1.5 points per game more than Vick per game

4 points more than Mcnabb per game

5.5 points more than Brady per game

6 points more than Eli per game

Meanwhile LT is averaging...

5 points more than Westbrook

7 points more than Ahman

And everyone else is behind that. 15th round guys like Kitna/Grossman are closer to Peyton in ppg than any of the other running backs are to LT/LJ.

LT and LJ both blew up this week so I'd imagine they've seperated themselves even more now if I included those numbers. Mentioning Peyton in the same breath as those two guys is a joke (this coming from a huge fan of what Peyton does in real life - just go check any of the countless Manning/Brady arguments that have come up the last few years). I realize that Peyton provides a certain level of certainty from year to year but at this point LT/LJ provide the same. That's not even to mention that we're talking RB vs. QB here and position scarcity just flat out makes mentioning them in the same sentence an utter and dispicable joke.

He's a quarterback, and this is fantasy football.

same here. i dont own him, but my buddy does, he says hes untradable. hes a keystone.
Agreed. I'm in a 2 QB start league and he's even more valuable. He's untradeable unless it's a ridiculous offer...
In a start 2QB dynasty he would be the most valuable player in the league. I wouldn't trade him for LT or LJ. Edit: At least, not straight up unless I had some dang good QB's to take his place.

An in a dynasty league Peyton Manning will be an elite QB for the next five seasons. LT and LJ are monsters right now but neither is likely to be a primary ball carrier for an NFL team in 5 years...that's just how RB's go. I wouldn't blame a Manning owner for trading him straight up for either of those two players but any other player you can name is laughable straight up for Peyton Manning.

i TRADED manning in the offseason before the draft.... dom davis and dunn were my top 2 RB's... scoring is 4pt/pass td.. team is in sig.

Manning

Rhodes

FOR

Terrible trade for you. Sorry. You have to account for how many years RBs play in this league. Peyton will play every game and be there for AT LEAST 5 more years. The average lifespan of a RB is much less.

Traded for Manning this weekend. I gave Bulger, Tatum Bell, Brandon Jacobs for Manning and 1st round pick in 2007 (his team is 1-8 and the pick should be number 1 or 2. Could net Peterson, Lynch, etc.) I still have Kevin Jones, Julius Jones and Frank Gore as my RB's. I'm pretty happy about the deal.

That's a freakin heist. I think it's a solid trade without the 1st. The first makes it highway robbery.
