These are consensus dynasty rankings for year 2007 standard FBGs scoring no PPR

If you vote other, please specify.

Also, please comment on your vote, and list any player that should be nominated for the next round.

I like the chatter going on so lets keep that going as we vote. Discussion about why you prefer one of these players compared to the others is useful to everyone involved and offers insight into how people in your leagues may view these players compared to others.

gheemony made a great point about one way to consider dynasty value for players in rankings by giving 50% value to 2007, 33% to 2008, and 17% to 2009. I know there are many ways to look at this and how hard it is to project for players even for one year. But I think it is significant enough that its worth mentioning. I am sure everyone has a different formula that they might use. But this one to me has some good balance and makes a lot of sense. And now has become a topic of discussion in this thread: http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...howtopic=296123 I welcome you all to read this and offer your perspectives on methods you use in determining where to rank players in dynasty leagues.

1. Peyton Manning 3/24/1976

2. Carson Palmer 12/27/1979

3. Tom Brady 8/3/1977

4. Drew Brees 1/15/1979

5. Donovan McNabb 1/25/1976

6. Matt Hasselbeck 9/25/1975

7. Philip Rivers 12/8/1981

8. Mike Vick 6/26/1980

9. Eli Manning 1/3/1981

10. Vince Young 5/18/1983

11. Matt Leinart 5/11/1983

12. Tony Romo 4/21/1980

13. Marc Bulger 4/5/1977

14. Jay Cutler 4/29/1983

15. Ben Roethlisberger 3/2/1982

Leftwich is a proven, young, promising QB ... if he can stay healthy
That has been his biggest problem. He stands in the pocket and holds the ball until the last moment seemingly oblivious to the hits he will take.Lefty

I am just curious as to how Phil Rivers could end up at #7?
1st this poll http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...=292933&hl= led to this poll http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...=293462&hl=

For background on when and how this was determined.

Rivers has played poorly in a couple games since then.

I voted for Rex Grossman. Due to numerous injuries, this is his first full season in the NFL. Despite several horrible games, he has had more than a few dominant performances which indicate potential. The Bears management is firmly behind him and he has an up and coming receiving corps of Bernard Berrian and Mark Bradley. If I'm looking for a #2 dynasty QB, it's all about upside and I think Grossman has the most on this list.

Other contenders are Alex Smith, Lefty, and CPep. Smith has shown me very little in the course of two seasons to suggest that he may become a top shelf QB, and the 49ers offense is conservative and completely designed around the running game of Frank Gore. Leftwich may not even be the best QB on his own team, and his lack of mobility, absence of playmakers at the WR position, and slow windup cause me to doubt his long term potential. Culpepper has had his seasons of greatness, but the last two years have been absolute garbage. At some point it's gotta be assumed that this is reflective of his current ability and not just an issue of peaks and valleys.

for those with a high risk tolerance, Cpep would go here.

I'd take Losman as a safer pick. (sounds weird to write)

I voted Losman.

He seems to have weathered the storm this year. He finished 16th overall at QB in most of my dynasty leagues (Really though, 18th when you bump the combined Dallas and Seattle passing games ahead of him). He ranked #8 overall for the past six weeks.

If they can add another playmaker to their offense, either a solid #2 WR or a get a very good receiving TE (Assuming the Bills have passing plays to their TEs in the playbook), then top 12 is a very reasonable expectation.

I went with Alex Smith. He was the top pick in the draft two years ago and has quietly made huge strides. He seems like a high character guy and I like the direction of the team in SF. I see him gradually becoming a fringe top 10 guy with an outside chance at McNabb-like numbers.

Can we restart this again after the season.

There is no way right now that Vince Young is the #10 rated dynasty qb right now.

He's probably worked himself near the top 5

Yes we can. In fact I plan to time willing.Still I want to let these run thier course and then exchange notes with OZ on the polls done prior to these. Use those results as a topic of discussion for awhile and I am hoping also that more people will contribute to the discussion of how they evaluate players in dynasty when they make thier rankings/projections.There is always room for improvement I think so I am looking for ways to do that and peoples suggestions are very welcome. That is what this open forum is for, to share information and learn from one another. As far as your position on VY I would just look at these polls for what they are an if you think Young (or any other player) is ranked lower than they should be that is usefull information you can use in your leagues as far as trading is concerned. Maybe you can get Young for cheeper than you think he is worth.

25 to 30 if you have the time. Lots of 14-teamers and that would be enough for two-deep.
