This is really a tough choice here..........and if I were in a league that cost say 1000 dollars a year to get in I'd probably have to draft Hasselbeck here in a Dynasty. He's young enough to take (to be honost, I wouldn't draft a QB at this spot because there's just to many of them in the same tier here to have to choose, but if I had to go QB), has a solid team around him etc.....

I almost took Romo, but his best two receivers are Glenn and Owens. Both are on the older side and could be gone at anytime so picking him here in a dynasty is risky.

I like Young and think he's going to be very good but I don't know what kind of committment this team will have in getting an offense around him and I've heard rumors that Fisher might go to Dallas eventually.

I love the surrounding cast Leinert has but as I watched him the other day, I know he passed for 400 yards, but a lot of that was junk time. I think he locks on one receiver to long. There was a stretch in that game where he was just focused on going to Boldin no matter what. He wouldn't even look on the side of the field Fitzgerald was on to see if he was open or not. So, although I think he's certainly top 10 in a dynasty draft, just not here for me.

fair points cowboy, I understand your point on Leinart, but think he'll grow out of it. He has everything I'd look for with a rookie QB.

I think you're right, I'd wait a couple more rounds at this point, or not worry about getting this QB in an auction.

Hasselbeck is the safe pick here, McNabb is great but injury concerns are key, Rivers has been great, but that offense runs through LT. FWIW, I just traded for Vick in a dynasty league, and like him a lot.

I'm going for upside here, and the pick came down to Eli or Leinart. Either is arguable, but IMO, Leinart has slightly higher upside.

I like the comments about the depth of talent at the Qb position right now. Or at least the perception of depth at the moment. For me I look at these rankings as isolated from other positions. Which Qb would I trade for another more than which Qb would I draft 1st. Both ways are good for arriving at a decision though.

I like the comment made by IWBACB about if your playing high stakes being more comfortable with a veteran proven player such as Hasselbeck for short term success. And that is a perspective that I am hoping people have in mind when they are voting. Because you can always add another younger Qb for depth and longevity later instead of taking that risk with a higher pick or larger price in an auction on a younger but unproven player despite the upside.

Start 2 Qb or 16 team or larger leagues would change that consideration as well. But like I said in the begining I look at these ranking from more of a who would I trade for who perspective. I know some people will stock up on many Qbs with thier rosters so they can add value to thier team and make themselves good trade partners because of the depth of starters they have at the Qb position.

Having said all that I do think it is hard to ignore Leinarts potential. The Cardinals have 2 elite Wrs locked up long term and Leinart who will be given every chance to succeed. Thier future drafts and free agency moves are very likely going to revolve around rebuilding that offensive line now and giving those 3 players every chance to succeed.

Stability of situations for players is really important when looking at long term success.

In high stake leagues, I'd always play for the short term, but that's part of the reason I prefer strong leagues with less $ and more pride at stake. It's a matter of perspective. When I voted I looked at whether I would trade Leinart for Hasselbeck in my leagues. I personally wouldn't, and I'm a strong contender right now.

I agree with you in that I wouldn't trade Leinart for Hasselbeck right now either even though he rides the pines for me.

bump for more votes. McNabb has a solid grip on this slot right now. Will probobly close all the polls at midnight tonight if there is a clear leader.
