I said it before, i'll say it again. Ben is a stud, and finished top 6 last year with no O-line, and his WR's banged up all season. If the Steelers can do anything to upgrde that offensive line, and Ward/Holmes stay healthy, the guy will challenge for the #1

QB spot next year. He will also chip in with some rushing numbers, and is still only 26 years old.

PGH's offensive line is soooo torn up though! I think Ben is a great pickup, just as any of these guys, but Drew Brees has thrown at least 500 passes every season for the last 3 and has a "worst" season of 3576 yards, 24 TDs, 15 picks since 2004.Brees should be #3 IMHO.

I honestly would take the #6 QB, after waiting. Romo, Ben, Brees, and Palmer are all roughly equal IMO. No real reason to take one over the others. After those 4, and of course the big 2, there's a drop off.

I went Brees here, for opportunity as much as any reason. But I agree that its a razor margin between all these guys.

This is way too close to call yet. We need some more votes to sort this out. I am hoping to avoid run offs and ties.

Its been this close since the begining, you should end it as soon as one of them gets a 5 vote lead, to avoid a tie or runoff. Now is probably a good time to start the RB's and WR's. Why cant we have all three going at one time? :goodposting:

I agree this is troublesome and I had a tendency to try to let the poll run longer in these situations hoping one player would get a late surge as the clear winner. Unfortunitly most often the exact opposite happened. I was reluctant to close the poll too early in case later voters might shift the vote the other way. This gets worse as these polls go on and a clear winner becomes even more cloudy.I wish I had a good solution to this but I don't. I think the best thing would be for people to debate one player over the other when these things are close and perhaps these arguments would sway swing voters. No garuntee of that happening however either.I voted for Brees here. He has a stronger track record than Ben or Romo do. He also has a younger supporing cast and coaching situation that I think will lend more stability to the wide open offense than the other 2 have as well. Honestly Romo's prospects make me a bit nervous when TO declines. TO is not a player that is easily replaced. Those are the core reasons I would favor Brees over Romo.As far as Brees vs. Ben the argument is a bit more difficult. But considering that the HC is defensive minded I see personel decisions being more focused on that side of the ball as well as the Oline. I know Tomlin has allowed a more wide open passing attack to take advantage of their best players (especially Ben) and this also fits well with the cover 2 philosophy of playing with a lead. However being defensivly focused could hold the passing game back somewhat moving foward to protect the defense if the Steelers can run the ball well they may be more willing to use a conservative approach than the Saints are.

If jeter doesen't mind maybe you or someone else could take the responsibility of running the polls for the RB, WR and TEs?Just a suggestion.

Went with Brees over Roeth and Romo; just like his proven year-to-year over Romo and system/weapon combination over Ben. Actually voted for him over Carson as well, though that was closer. Any version of these 3 as QB4-6 seems viable to me (another tier dropoff after them IMO).

Might make sense if jeter is alright with it for 4 different people to take 1 of each; I'll volunteer for one of em.

romo is a good QB, but his numbers have been helped quite a bit by haing owens and witten around. witten should be around for a while, but when owens retires in 2-3 years, what's left? i'm sure they'll find someone, but it's not like they have a lot of WR depth right now...

Either way is fine with me. I don't mind to do them all and I certainly am fine with splitting them up. If no one else wants to do them, we could each do 2 Duckboy.

Sounds like a plan; I'll start that up tonight.

Just one idea, but it could be better to rate each player, on a scale of 1-5 or 1-10, it would involve additional polls, but when we're fairly certain it's between 2-4 players, it can be done. Seperate polls for each player, with the options being the rating. This could be done as the original poll if we know with reasonable certainty who the players are, as we do here; or just for the run-offs, although I understand you're trying to avoid those.

You can have the RB's, I am mentally incapable of setting up polls.

:excited: ok.

I find it interesting so many people are taking Brees considering he passed the ball 655 times and still was only #4 last year. To put that into perspective that's the second highest # of attempts in NFL history behind only Bledsoe(1994).

FF - Romo easily #1... Romo/Brees/Ben.

Real Football - Ben easily #1... Ben/Romo/Brees.
