These are consensus dynasty rankings for year 2007 standard FBGs scoring no PPR

If you vote other, please specify.

Also, please comment on your vote, and list any player that should be nominated for the next round.

I like the chatter going on so lets keep that going as we vote. Discussion about why you prefer one of these players compared to the others is useful to everyone involved and offers insight into how people in your leagues may view these players compared to others.

gheemony made a great point about one way to consider dynasty value for players in rankings by giving 50% value to 2007, 33% to 2008, and 17% to 2009. I know there are many ways to look at this and how hard it is to project for players even for one year. But I think it is significant enough that its worth mentioning. I am sure everyone has a different formula that they might use. But this one to me has some good balance and makes a lot of sense. And now has become a topic of discussion in this thread: http://forums.footballguys.com/forum/index...howtopic=296123 I welcome you all to read this and offer your perspectives on methods you use in determining where to rank players in dynasty leagues.

Results so far:

1. Ladainian Tomlinson 6/23/1979

2. Larry Johnson 11/19/1979

3. Steven Jackson 7/22/1983

4. Shaun Alexander 8/30/1977

5. Clinton Portis 9/1/1981

6. Frank Gore 5/14/1983

7. Ronnie Brown 12/12/1981

8. Brian Westbrook 9/2/1979

9t. Kevin Jones 8/21/1982

9t. Reggie Bush 3/2/1985

11. Willie Parker 11/11/1980

12. Laurence Maroney 2/5/1985

13. Joseph Addai 5/3/1983

14. Rudi Johnson 10/1/1979

15. Willis McGahee 10/20/1981

16. Maurice Jones-Drew 3/23/1985

17. Adrian Peterson 3/21/1985

18. Carnell Williams 4/21/1982

I like Barber here. He has been a beast this year. I can only imagine the success if he is primary ball carrier.

I still think L Jordan should be in the poll. I know he was really bad this season but just a year ago he was a legit #1 and a top 8 RB. We are at 19 :lmao:

Voted for Deuce. He'll be two years removed from his knee injury next year, plays in a great offense, gets goal-line carries, and is a proven commodity. Too many question marks with a few of the other players for me to pass on McAllister here.

Why is Domanick Davis is the list already? Why not list Curtis Martin and Marshall Faulk as well. :lmao:

At least DD is still young although he may be career endingly injured. But at least he doesen't have ball cancer. Sopranos Lamont Jordan will be on the next poll. But honestly while he was still healthy it appeared to me that Fargas was outplaying him. And that does not mean Fargas is good.

Barber and DeAngelo locked in a tie right now need more votes.

I think it is interesting that there are still several potential top 10 Rbs that have not been voted for yet. The Rb position is as deep in the NFL right now as I can ever remember.

Chester Taylor Marion Barber 3 and DeAngelo Williams currently leading voting on this one. I will leave it open for awhile and see if one of these can distance themselves from the others. Otherwise I will have to make a tiebreaker poll.

I wonder if Barbers performance against the vaunted Eagles defense last night changes anyones perspective on him at all? I am not saying it should or shouldn't neccessarily. I thought the Eagles played very inspired defense in that game. A team that seemed to be able to go to the well and turn it up a notch with playoff aspirations on the line. Under those conditions from what I saw Julius Jones looked more effective than Barber did in limited action for that game. I am just not sure if there is a clear seperation between these 2 Rbs talents as other might think. And both may be better in limited roles than as full time starters as well.

I like Deuce here. He still young, he's proven, and he's in the top 10 in scoring this year.
He is also in a time share with a very good Rb in Bush who's carries may be increasing next year.
Barber, Benson and Williams are all in RBBCs. Atleast Deuce has proven he can carry the load. He's one of the highest paid RBs in the league. He's either a big part of the offense or the Saints move him. They're not going to pay him that kind of money to give Bush a breather.

Agreed. If owners drafting in front of me pass on Deuce to select Chester Taylor, DeAngelo Williams, Cedric Benson, or Marion Barber III I'd be very pleased.

Barber Benson and Williams have the opportunity to get increased roles in thier time share situations in the near future.

I do not see anything but a injury to Bush causing DMac to take more carries from Bush. If he stays in New Orleans it is much more likely he loses carries rather than gains them. So best scenario for him would be a trade to a team that would give him more action. That possibility exists with at least as much likelyhood for Barber Benson and Williams. And actualy more because those teams might cut or trade thier counterparts increasing thier roles. New Orleans has zero chance of getting rid of Bush.

They're going to need much increased roles to equal Deuce's value this year, particularly Williams and Benson. Deuce is #10 in scoring among backs. Don't see his role decreasing at all. New Orleans has a good thing going and they're paying him a lot of money. Over the second half of the season his role has actually increased with Bush coming into his own. I think New Orleans likes the way they're using Bush right now and as a result of that, they like the way they're using Deuce. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
