Can't pick against Gore here, but I know people will be overly enamored with CJ.
:lmao: yep, I'm overly enamored with the guy. Watch him play and you should be too.
I know this comparison has been made a number of times already but look at these two lines:268 for 1282 yards, 9 TDs, 1 lost fumble, 50 rec for 377 yards, 1 TD, 5'9" 203 pounds born Jan 1986

251 for 1228 yards, 9 TDs, 1 lost fumble, 43 rec for 260 yards, 1TD, 5'11" 200 pounds born Sept 1985

Tell my why one of these 2008 rookies is getting overwhelming love this high up, and the other one is a complete afterthought? They had damn near identical seasons, both on surprisingly good offenses, both exhibiting plenty of big play quality etc. I've watched BOTH of them play and BOTH have been very impressive. Just never understood the huge difference in appreciation.

In fact, based JUST on the stat lines above and not knowing anything else about the two players, I might opt for the shorter, more compact back who is slightly younger and had a fairly significant edge in the receiving game.

Can't believe steven jackson took #3. I can understand drafting him with the hope that he stays healthy and gets back to the level that he reaches a couple years back - but if you take him at #3 there is no where to go but down. I don't know how almost 50% of voters rationalized picking him over younger, healthier backs, who are every bit as talented and in better positions. In a few years we'll refer to this as the dreadlock effect.

Wavering between CJ and DWill, who I think is underrated in PPR. He's got the receiving skills, opportunity hasn't presented itself yet.

Fair question. IMO CJ3 is crazy overvalued right now. (despite being a CJ3 owner)

FWIW, I like them both. I just happen to think CJ3 is better long term. I've seen more of him though, so that may bias me.

How did the RB landscape change this drastically when even the likely #2 RB isn't a consensus choice and the RB3 vote could have fallen another 5+ slots? In a startup dynasty draft if I don't pick first or 2nd I'd hate to pick in the middle because it's just too early to go WR but is there really a difference in this entire group? Teams wanting to win in 2009 could go Westbrook or Portis. MB3's stock is down but should go back up next season. I am just not sure about the CJ3 hype to go this high when LenDale isn't going away. I went Gore but could be talked into about anyone on this list. Turner doesn't have a lot of tread. Deangelo was a beast but can he keep it up? Will the platoon get worse? Are these all studs or is there just a huge tier at RB1, then after RB2 all the way down to RB10+?

yeah i can't give the love for jackson either. the guy has played 1 full season that's it. your #1 pick normally doesn't win you a championship, but it sure can keep you from making the playoffs. his really only good season was 2006 as well, and he scored 7 of his 13 tds in weeks 14-17 (great if you made the playoffs, however his performance until then was dismal)

I would take 21 year old Jonathan Stewart over some of the guys listed. Talent wise over a lot of them, but because he isn't a feature back yet, he slides some.

How the hell is Forte being passed over so much when he was a STUD this past year as a rookie? He does it all, and didnt score in single digits ALL freaking year....

:blackdot: Exactly my thoughts. Went Gore.People are always grossly in love with youth. Give me the workhorse who is the centerpiece of his offense and has excelled in both PPR and non-PPR.....oh, and he's only 25.

All RBs get hurt. Just thought you guys should know.

Also, don't confuse fantasy success with gamebreaking talent.

A whole lot of love for some young guys that aren't elite or aren't complete packages. 2009 is going to be an interesting year. :banned:

SJax is 26, how much younger you need to get?
