Im mostly wanting to focus on specifically WR picks for this Season. Im sure somewhat similar arguments could be made for QB's. (Both can make quite an impact for their Team for yrs)

I believe we all know who the consensus #1 pick (least WR wise) would be in most drafts.. Id like to consider what may be the second best WR in the draft (Mike Evans) and who might be quite productive even as a Rookie (Jordan Matthews).

I must admit Ive been quite hopeful to land Evans in my draft and/or so n so...

However Im seeing and somewhat believing some of this hype on Matthews. IF I consider the teams track record, Coach, QB, and possibly need at position? Basically Im almost left feeling like its best I cant get my fav WR.

(Do you even Or should We consider the possibility of Trades)

p.s. I realize Im somewhat splitting hairs because some may see both (All) WR's as Top 5 Rookie picks/

/Edit to offer the amt of value available in having the option to either draft Evans or trade the pick (per Winning is everything) Yeah, I voted Evans. Not necessarily because I think he is more talented (which I do think he is slightly), but because of relative value. If you believe Matthews is more talented, you can trade down a spot or two and get a premium from an owner who really wants Evans.

This won't be close.... At all.
thank-you for the re-ply!

Im in almost total agreement. Honestly until today (this morning) I couldn't explain how difficult a choice it would be in selecting Evans Or one of the available QB's (fwiw I play in a two-QB League w/IDP)

Anyway I like to think Im somewhat able to view all the angles, and somewhat prosper from everyone's perspective on the Board.

Im unaware of any such recent posts that actually focus and/or discuss situation as it actually matters.

p.s. Ive seen some awesome Football from Teams w only One outstanding WR, so it makes me slightly bias in some respects. Im not referring to Teams like Houston, but more like GB w the acquisition of J. Jefferson quite a few yrs ago.

It's super close for me. The optimal play here is to trade down, pick up additional assets, and draft Matthews.

I cant begin to explain the caution needed when basing Info off of Camp reports ettc. It hurts to miss on any pick, But especially your 1st Rnd pick!

However in order to heighten the hype Heres the tweet/retweet that helped provoke my continued interest and this post: Retweeted by Jason Wood

Same. RT @fbgwood Never want to overreact to rookie camp, but I'm open to J. Matthews being best WR on Eagles. Maclin/Cooper not that good.

I love both of them but it's Evans in a landslide. He is the consensus #2. Ideally if you wanted Matthews I think you need to be in the 7-9 range for a 2QB league (I play those myself) while Evans, you MUST be in the top3 to potentially grab him. Move down if you want Matthews but I haven't seen anyone prefer him > Evans straight up.

Hopefully I can get enough Info out soon enough to avoid reposting responses/Answers'

yeah Im not drafting in the Top three :( But I may actually drop some "Fools Gold" and/or We may see the value of some Vets ratchet up the board.. (fwiw We also trade very little)

Im just really hoping to enjoy some good posts (entertaining) Learn possibly and/or fall more in-line w what most FBG guys are thinking.

p.s. I kinda sorta hyped Evans awhile back, and while Im not exactly getting cold feet or nothing (Im almost shocked how much more love is shown for Watkins) Im also not to be considered a "Guru" But Id sure ask some folks about "Matthews being available at the 9th pick"
