i figured that sense this type of poll (OZ, tick then snorlax) has been used for overall dynasty rankings and since the Rookie Draft results are poping up, and there is a new thread every other day about who is #2, and who is #6, and who is #10, this could be somewhat beneficial.

for the runoff's i'll narrow down to the top 2 or 3 (if needed) and revote, it'll take longer but we'll get a better sense of things.

i'll use what has been happening in other drafts as a guide but feel free to recommend guys.

Standard fbg scoring rules:

1 pt per 10 yards rushing/receiving

6 pts per rushing/receiving TD

1 pt per 20 yards passing

1 pt per XP

Lineup:

1 QB

2 RB

3 WR

1 TE

1 RB/WR/TE flex

1 K

1 D

1. RB- Reggie Bush, NO

2. RB- Laurence Maroney, NE

(Runoff) 3. RB- DeAngelo Williams, CAR

4. RB- Joseph Addai, IND

(Runoff) 5. RB- Lendale White, TEN

6. TE- Vernon Davis, SF

The Top 5 is set in stone (the 5 RB's). There's little different IMO between 6-11 and are very interchangeable based on your team's need.

I've got the #11 pick in my league & am very happy with it knowing I'll get one of Davis, Young, Leinart, Cutler, Jackson, Holmes. (Likely one of the latter 3). If I'm at 6 and don't have a great need at QB or TE, I'm trading down. and gaining a pick or player.

Jackson is the pick here. Holmes is a good talent, but fell into an awful situation: the Steelers don't throw all that much as it is, Ward is the #1 for years to come, Miller seems to have a nice connection with Roeth. I see Holmes as Randle-El without the gadget plays.

I keep seeing a lot of "Pittsburgh doesn't throw much" as a rationale for ranking Holmes below Jackson. While Bill Cowher isn't going to be confused with Mike Martz, at least Pit does actually throw to its WRs. It was only a few years ago that Ward and Plax were a nice tandem that both produced good fantasy stats, and Roethlisberger is developing into a fine passer. Holmes doesn't have the same skill set as Plaxico, but I don't see why this is such a terrible long-term situation for him. I should add a disclaimer that I became a Holmes owner a few days ago. I passed Jackson over because while I think Jackson has more upside, he also has a lot more downside variance IMO.

Holmes may very well end up being a bust, but if he is, it'll be because he just isn't that good, which is the reason why most prospects bust. I don't think the Pittsburgh offense will be the problem.
