I think it should be a RB but a case can be made for everyone on the list.
hmmm, i like this thinking.Tough call between the rookie RBs cuz of situational variables.
1. In part, it comes down to which veteran should be the easiest to beat to the spot. If that were all that mattered, the list would go like this (from the easiest to beat out to the hardest):
Rhodes, Foster, Kevin Jones, Chris Brown, Dillon, McAllister
2. BUT, factoring in the talent of the rookie back (and the durability and age of the veterans in question), the "easist to beat out" list goes like this:
McAllister, Foster, Dillon, Rhodes, Brown, K. Jones
..... which means that the rookie RB's go like this in my book:
1. Bush
2. Williams
3. Moroney
4. Addai
5. White
6. Calhoun

I was thinking of this strategy in one of my leagues. Not sure what the value is for someone to move up from 1.3 to 1.2 though, unless they were absolutely sold on either Maroney or Williams. What would one expect to get in this kind of deal? What would it cost to trade up? What should one ask for to trade down?At 1.02, I'd try to trade down to 1.03, take the value and Williams or Maroney, whoever is left for I'd be just as happy with wither of them at this point.

I'm in a similar position. Our rookie draft isn't for a while yet, so I'm holding right now. If for some reason, one of the two (Maroney or Williams) seperates himself from the other I'll hold fast and pick, otherwise I'll try to trade down.I was thinking of this strategy in one of my leagues. Out of curiousity, do you just not like Maroney?I'd draft Bush #2.
D Williams is in the best spot, especially for dynasty, & he'll be the workhorse for a very well coached team with some significant D for a few years. That some people won't even remotely consider a featured RB in a great spot over Bush amazes me.
He's an easy pick over Bush, IMO. In fact, I'd put Bush & Addai neck & neck for the 2/3 pick, given the opportunity in IND to rack up some serious FF numbers.

Nope. I like Maroney a lot. But his opportunity in NE is limited the way Belicheck likes to diversify his offense, the way I see it. He ought to be a very solid FF RB, but he won't be a stud - through no fault of his own.Out of curiousity, do you just not like Maroney?I'd draft Bush #2.

I'm sitting at 1.02 and wondering if it is worth anything not to have to be subject to Bellichik's "injury reports" and being faced with the decision to have to start/sit Maroney when he "questionable", maybe with a broken leg and maybe with a splinter in his pinkey, over the course of his career.Williams is becoming a more attractive prospect.Nope. Again, I have nothing against Maroney. But Dillon when healthy is a bonafide stud, and even when he was superb in 2004 for NE, he was still a middle of the pack #1 RB. Belicheck loves throwing to 9 different targets a game, he loves using 3rd down specialists, and he'll keep going to the whip when he finds a mismatch in the passing game, no matter who the receiver is.Williams, on the other hand, is going to a team that will give its featured RB the ball 25 times a game, every game, if he is healthy. And Williams brings more to the table than Foster in everything but open field speed, and most importantly health and the burning desire to touch the ball as many times as humanly possible every game. Williams is a compete RB, and I like his opportunity and the way he meshes with CAR a lot.Maroney - He may not be a great FF RB this year with Dillon still around, but he is the RB of the future for the Patriots.
I don't like Williams because Foster just signed a nice contract, is young enough and he is an alright RB when healthy that he will still get carries.
Addai is in a good situation but I think Indy will be getting another RB at some point in the future to complement Addai.
