[DYNASTY] Second Year of Dynasty Question... (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I'm new to the board and checked the search option but didn't find what I was looking for. This will be the second year of our dynasty keeper league. We, for the first year, will be able to keep 2 vets and one rookie from the previous year on our rosters. Everyone else goes back into the draft pool. I have a few questions: First, we have 12 teams and had problems with QB's last year. We had some teams that had three starting QB's and so when bye weeks came around (and injuries), some people were upset because they were just going to lose those points. QB's are 1/4 of our league scoring. We have talked about, if I take Kurt Warner, I will have the rights to all Cardinals QB's this year, but I only have the option to keep Warner for next year, not Leinart. Do you see this working? What other options can you give us?

The second part is a keeper league question. Should we keep adding keepers so that in a few years we will have between 5 and 7 guys that will form "your" team? How many keepers do you guys have and how do you handle rookies? Like I stated earlier, we are new to this and trying to make it the best we can. Everyone enjoyed last season and everyone is lookinf forward to the next season, but I don't want another black cloud over the leagues head like last year. Any suggestions pertaining to the questions above will be very much appreciated. \

Thanks in advance for the "new comissioner" help!

We're using IDPs and are also in the second year of our keeper league (started up last year).

We decided to keep 4 offense and 4 defense right from the start. We'll be having a 3 round rookie draft and if a rookie is kept through the year, they won't count against next year's keeper amount from what I understand.

Your league sounds overly complicated. Tell the cry baby owners to draft better this time around, and if they don't, tell them to shut their pie hole when they can't play a QB in Week 7. Please copy and paste this for them to read.

Your league sounds more like a keeper league than a dynasty league. The dynasty league I'm in has a 25 man roster and we're also going into our 2nd year. We'll have a 3 round rookie draft this year, so we'll have to drop atleast 3 players to make room for the rookies.

Getting back to your league, I agree with the previous post, the other teams have to draft better to avoid falling into the position of not having a QB for a certain week. Injuries are a part of the game and you can't predict them. Also, who is to say that the same problem can't come up with runningbacks?

Besides, if your league goes to team QB's then there won't be the same problem next season. Also, if it does go to team QB's, then theres no reason you can't have Warner & Leinart if you're drafting Arizona.

I only play in dynasty leagues (keep all), so even though I can't relate to your league, one thing I can say, is that your league sounds overly complicated. I commish two dynasty leagues, and if you like, PM giving your email address and I will email our rules to you.

Draft Leinart instead of Warner. You still get Warner's rights (all AZ QBs) this year but then you can keep Leinart.Let me guess. These clowns draft 8 RB in the first 10 rounds and then cry when they only end up with 1 QB. Sounds like you play with some crybabies.

Thanks guys. Our league is a Keeper league not a dynasty league(don't know why I put that earlier). The whole thing about the other owners is that a maority agreed that If they had an extra Starting QB, that they would release them for a week and then a gentleman's agreement that they would give the QB back after it was needed.

So, do you guys think that the team concept will work or do you think that I should just say, draft better to avoid the injury/bye problem?

Our league scoring wise is only Offense with two team defenses. The breakdown of scoring last year was 25.2% from two qb's, 23.1% from 4WR/1TE/1K, 26.1% from RB's, and 25.6% from two defenses.
