I've had my eye on this player for several months. He was a fairly high profile prospect and I had seen him play once or twice in his college career, but what really caught my eye was his highlights. He's a shifty WR in the mold of Mark Clayton or Deion Branch. And while he probably lacks the skills necessary to become a dominant NFL player, I think he has a realistic chance of eventually emerging as a starter in the league. I've refrained from talking about him until now because I was waiting to pick him up in most of my leagues before hyping him.

Anyhow, he was a 7th round pick out of Clemson who probably would've been chosen several rounds higher if it weren't for some injury issues. He's been consistently impressive in Jets camp and is a good bet to make the final roster. You can find them by clicking on the following link:

Go to the right side of the page where it says "Featured NFL Video." Click on one of the videos. When the video window opens up, type in Chansi Stuckey in the search bar. A link to his highlights should pop up.

He played very well last Friday - made a nice adjustment on his TD catch. He developed into somewhat of a fan favorite in one mere game.

If he continues to play well, I could see him holding down the #4 WR spot after Coles/Cotch/Smith. If I'm McCareins, I'd be a bit worried.

I heard earlier this offseason that Jets were looking to deal McCareins, but all indications are that they've decided to keep him around. They certainly have two intriguing guys on the bench in Stuckey and Smith. I admittedly don't know the contract situations of Coles or Cotchery, but this is a situation to monitor over the next year or two.

I can't imagine anyone would trade for McCareins - it wouldn't shock me to see him cut. Given how much he's underperformed, and doesn't have a huge fan in Mangini, I'm actually surprised he's on the roster right now to begin with.Cotchery was just signed long-term this past offseason, and while I don't have Coles' info in front of me, I think his deal still has at least a few years left. That doesn't mean Coles will stick around that long, of course.I wouldn't get too excited over Chanci just yet, but early returns are positive.
