Dynasty Team Advice (1 Viewer)

Wanted to get some advice for my dynasty team. This is our league's first year. Before I go any further let me breakdown the league.

Full PPR dynasty 8 person

Start 2 QB, 3 rb, 3 wr, 2 TE, 3 flex (RB/WR/TE). 20 bench spots but no IR spots. Top 6 teams go to playoffs. Top team in each division based on record gets a first round bye.

League was setup this way due to being an 8 person league.

So my question is if I should go all in this year based off my record and roster. I am currently 4-1 leading the league. Am a game ahead in my division and the whole league. So record wise it would seem to make sense. One thing with our League is everyone's record is close for the most part. 4 teams are 3-2 with the one other being 2-3. Two teams are 1-4. My roster is great on paper based of the initial draft and past trading but injuries are racking up and I have been lucky so far for them not to cost me yet. Here is my current roster.

QBs - Baker, Maye, Dak, Fields, Gabriel

WRs - Lamb, G Wilson, Rice, Egbuka, Keenan, Pearsall, Ladd, Ridley, Malik Washington, Isaiah Bond

RBs - Achane, Bucky, Chase Brown, JCM (Bill), Treveyon, Tuten, Michael Carter, Ollie Gordon, Sean Tucker, Keaton Mitchell C-Rod, Isaiah Davis, Shipley

TEs - Hunter Henry, Ertz, Hockenson, Tonges, Gadsden

Reason I am a little hesitant is because I have Lamb, Bucky, and Pearsall all injured. Plus the Burrow injury affecting Chase Brown and Rice suspended until wi7. The positive side is Lamb should be back by wk7 with Rice (maybe Bucky). Plus maybe Flacco saving Chase Brown lol.

So do you think I need to make any upgrades to my roster? I think TE is the biggest weakness. RB looks good on paper but with Bucky's injury and Brown not having Burrow it's starting to lose production. The only thing that could counter it is if JCM keeps ascending and/or Treveyon also breaks out (not sure if he will).

If I were to to try and trade I think maybe trading one of my QBs would make sense since I want to keep the depth at my other positions. Wouldn't mind trading Pearsall but he is hurt so not sure anyone wants him. I am open to trading future picks as well.

But do you think I need to make any trades at all or just keep my current roster? Or maybe hold off for another 2 weeks to see how the league shapes up and maybe make trades at that point. Appreciate any advice!

In dynasty injuries don't matter as much so I am sure Pearsall still has quite a bit of value and most every team wouldn't mind getting him (assuming they don't think SF is too crowded and just don't like him).

You always want to look to improve but not necessarily at the expense of the future. TE is definitely a need so I would look to improve there.

In general in leagues this small depth is less of an issue and you want to be top heavy. Looke to acquire weekly difference makers. That is what wins you games. Consolidate depth to get as many top end talent guys as you can. Now, since your league is trying to counteract the minimal number of teams with having a crazy amount of starting spots you need to make sure you are solid throughout. It's not your typical league where having two studs at one position will be enough. I haven't played in a league with that many starting spots (11 non QB's is crazy) but I think my point stands. Elite starters and less on depth is probably the way to go.

Who would you trade on my roster to upgrade TE? Keenan or Pearsall maybe?

Depends on who is available to acquire and what it will take to acquire them. I don't typically have anybody off limits on my team as long as I come up with an equitable price anybody is available.

I would put out some feelers to teams with TE's you have interest in and see what they need. Then come up with an offer you feel good about it.

Do you think my RB room needs any fixing or just TE?

Long term I think your RB's are just fine. Short term they are fine as well. You can always make improvements for sure but I think you are ok at RB.

Gotcha. Do you think it's best to trade for a tier 1 TE like McBride/Bowers or something like Ferguson, Taylor, Kraft, etc. Knowing McBride and Bowers will cost more.

The not helpful answer is to go with the best deal. No way to know what that will be until you inquire. The more helpful answer is I probably go after the lesser guys figuring that the upper echelon guys will be way too expensive.
