[DYNASTY] The 2013 Buy/Sell List (1 Viewer)

Julius Thomas - is he a buy or sell?
I think if you can get what you could've got for, say, AHern, not to mention near-Gronk/Graham he's a sell. Otherwise he's probably a hold. The value jumped the ship very quickly for him, IMO, making a buy difficult.
When I went to bed last night I thought for sure I would check my dynasty team at lunch and would have at least an offer or 2 for Thomas. When I checked my league I had 2 offers, but to my surprise they were for Decker, not Thomas. This is why I was curious

Makes sense. Decker had a bad game and they are hoping you are stupid enough to give up on him after that

Ya it just caught me off guard. Speaking of which I think Decker is a good buy low if some owners are scared. I think he leaves Denver this next year, maybe the following if they franchise or tender him. I think he would be good in Washington, New Orleans, Detroit, Buffalo, or Indy

Only one game, but looks like Decker will be the odd man out in Denver. Welker actually looking like he's poised for another season as a target hog.

I'm a Vereen buyer if I can get him. If woodhead can be an rb2, then why can't a guy who has a better overall skill set? Plus they're lining him up outside to take some Hernandez type plays. Yes, he's not a 250 carry guy, but I think he's athletic enough to make plays with 15 touches per game.

I agree. Also, I disagree with comment above about Decker being a "hold." Frankly, I would move him while he has value. He is not a great talent. He is the definition of WR2 and the kind of guy who will not ever be an elite player. I don't see how his production will improve when he goes somewhere and has a guy less than Peyton throwing the ball.

Decker vs Crabtree?

I own Decker in one dynasty league and Crabtree in another. I favor Decker about 55/45, but I'm not inclined to deal one for the other in either league.

If you're buying Decker in dynasty you deserve to donate the next 3-5 years of entry fees you just flushed to something a bit more productive to society.

If Vereen was a better player than Woodhead, he would have been on the field ahead of him the last few years. He wasn't.

I'll cut against the grain with a few:

SELL

Trent Richardson -- Yes, there's alot to like here, but IMO people are totally ignoring the very real downside here -- namely that he ends up being the non-dynamic guy we saw last year. Someone (probably five+ someones) in every league thinks he's the slam dunk #1 player overall, and I think it would be a smart move to throw him out there to start a bidding war and see what type of king's ransom he would bring. Don't dump him obviously, but if you can get an AJ, Dez, Martin, McCoy type cornerstone ++ I'd be strongly considering it.

David Wilson -- I actually like Wilson, but the hype train is out of control here particularly after the Brown injury, which is actually pretty irrelevant to his long term value. There are people that see him as a top 5, even THE #1 RB moving forward -- if one of those dudes is in your league and will pay for the upside, I'd cash out.

Lamar Miller -- Another guy who has a group of true believers that are ignoring the downside. He went as the main component in an AJ Green deal in a solid league I'm in. He's been acquired for guys like CJ Spiller in the dynasty trade thread, and no one batted an eye. That's absurd for a 4th round RB in a bad situation who couldn't beat out a scrub like Daniel Thomas last year.

BUY

Percy Harvin, Michael Crabtree, Kenny Britt, Ryam Matthews, Darren McFadden, Josh Gordon, Justin Blackmon, etc -- guys with difference making talent that are (sometimes massively) discounted due to injury and/or suspension. Almost always good value to be had...
I've seen you type this many times. Why do you keep harping on this? You seem smarter than that.

This seems like faulty logic. Most rookies take time to mature, it's not like they come into the league great at everything. And Vereen was plagued with injuries his first couple of seasons as well. Plenty of great players sat for a year or two until they hit their stride.

I think he's a huge sell. It's hard to imagine more than 600 targets being available and it looks like DT and Welker will chew up at least 300 of them. That leaves 300 for Decker, JT, the RBs, other WRs, and other TEs. With Decker and JT likely getting about the same, it's hard to see him with more than 100.

I didn't expect him to get the majority of the carries. If that continues then it's a different ballgame.

How dare Vereen not be in there ahead of Woodhead, especially since he missed the first 3 games last year, 11 games the year before that, and the year before that he was playing at Cal.

I'm going to try to buy Kenny Britt actively this season. He should move on 2014 and his situation can only improve.
