Dynasty value for Mewelde Moore & Ciatrick Fason? (1 Viewer)

Wondering what you guys think. Will they keep both of them, trade, or let one go. I am not sure their contract situations and feel Moore has more value to the Viks as a kick returner.

If you had to choose one of these guys, who would you choose and why?

I assume one will be kept as the last back, and one will be let go.

Fason will likely be on another roster come Sept. Hopefully he gets on a team that has needs at RB and we'll get to see his ability once and for all. But it will likely be his last shot. I'm not cutting him on my dynasty league just yet.

If I had to choose between the two, I would choose Moore. Similar to NE backfield last season, the Viking version could look like this:

Peterson = Maroney

Taylor = Dillon

Moore = K Faulk

I don't think either of them have much trade value. Moore and Fason are both from the Tice regime and both could be gone. Maybe Moore punt returning ability will save him but the Vikings now have several players capable of returning punts and kicks - Bobby Wade, Allison, Chandler, etc.

I keep thinking Moore for Justin Tuck would be a good trade for both teams (probably just wishfull thinking on my part).

The problem with this analogy is that Dillon had as many TD's last year as Taylor has had in his entire career. If you score 13 TD's, you have definite FF value. If you get 4-6 and lose a lot of your yardage, you aren't in the same boat.

They did re-up Pinner's contract as well. Pinner plays ok on special teams (coverage) and I'm not sure Fason does that at all. I would say Fason could be gone, and Moore and Pinner will be 3 and 4. (VERY deep on the RB depth chart)

I was think more of the total proportion of touches for the three backs. I don't expect Taylor to get more goalline oppertunities than Peterson. All backs may have less touches if Tavaris Jackson throws a lot of three and outs. I also didn't factor Tony Richardson in to the equation which probably makes both backs more expendable.

Well the value was zero, and with Peterson in town I am going with -1. As in they are actually hurting you if you have them taking up roster space for a player that actually has a chance.

Moore is a third down back but wont likely even see much time there for the Vikings. If he's cut, he's might win a third down role somewhere but that's about the most potential you have. No value IMO.

Fason wont see any time if he stays. If he's cut and then picked up by say Green Bay or someone in sudden need of runners, he could have a little value based on opportunity but dont hold your breath. If he couldnt beat out even one of those other guys in Minnesota, he probably wouldnt beat out Morency in Green Bay. No value IMO but I would choose him over Moore.

It was well known that he was raw coming out of college. He wasn't exactly given a fair shot. Last season, he goes 11-70 with a TD (with Chester hurt) and Pinner got the start.... He's got value left, he just needs to now hit a place where the RB situation is murky and he could take the spot. I wouldn't write him off just yet.

I think Moore is an UFA after the season and with the money now tied up at the position in Minny, I forsee a great landing place for him: Philly. Andy Reid has wanted a Westbrook clone/backup for years, hence the high pick spent on to-date bust Ryan Moats. Hunt is obviously a recently aquired impediment but he is def more similar to Buckhalter (although he is supposed to catch well). If you play in a PPR league (and Moore is indeed a FA next year - or if he's cut this year) he would be a good guy to stash on a deep roster. I think he would flourish in Philly and would be gold if Westbrook went down for any length of time.

I think Fason is a pretty-good, second-tier NFL feature back. If he's starting, he'll be one of the worst NFl starters. But, he has enough game to warrant a look as a career backup type who can get you through some stretches should your starter go down. If he's your starter for any length of time, I think he's a guy you'll always look to replace. I think he's probably similarly talented to a lot of guys who will garner a lot of carries this year in the NFL. The situations in New York (Giants), Green Bay, Tenn, Oakland, and Houston come to mind.

Others may see it as wishful thinking, however I think this as the best post on the topic thus far. I don't think Moore's ever been utilized correctly for the Vikes, has excellent hands and could do well in the right system. Whether he ever gets that chance though, I'm not so sure. Situation only, Fason's ceiling is to have something of a Dominic Rhodes career at best.

I've come to the conclusion that Moore just isn't that good. He had a chance to start, but blew it because of injuries, etc. and the Vikes brought in Chester. If Moore can't beat out Chester, who many viewed as one of the least talented starting backs in the league, where is he ever going to start? I had him as my backup to Chester, along with Fason, but with AP and Chester there's little chance he's going to do much with the Vikes. He could end up on another team since he's only 25 but I'd be very surprised if he's ever a starter.I liked Fason out of college and knew he was raw, but I had to drop him since I didn't have room on my roster for him. If you have a spot open and can afford to wait on him he could be worth it, but just know that you're trying up a roster spot for a long time with him.

zero

MM has had lots of opportunity and cant seem to put it together. Fason is a decent GL back, but until Taylor retires, I dont see him getting much time.

I just traded both of those guys in a package deal to the Peterson owner for his 3rd, 4th and 5th rounders next year.
