Dynasty value of Jamal Lewis (1 Viewer)

Long term dynasty potential of this kid? He's young, but hasn't had a 100 yd game since the Ford administration.

Is he a buy low candidate this season...or has he reached "dump-him-while-he's-still-a-starter" status?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

good question, i was real high on him in preseason, targeted him in many of my intitial dynasty drafts. I have no idea how this guy isnt putting up monster numbers. All the ingredients seem to be there, but I look at the box score and  .I traded him and a future first rounder(probl between 2-5) for Larry Fitzgerald this week and hope that I sold at the right time.

"REAL" Shark here (sarcasm).

I am in the boat of dump him while he is a starter. Jamal has gone threw a lot and since then has not been the same TENACIOUS player. That is how he ran before the TROUBLE. I do not see that in him now. If you can get good value from him, I would go that route.

I agree that I think his value is sliding and he will not get to be more valuable. However, I think he may already be a guy that you are just stuck with and you may as well ride him to the end now. I just don't see much trade value in him. If you can get something nice then take it but if thye talent is there you may as well keep him and play him through this season. I am afraid it may be too late to get value for him.

I traded him away for Deshaun Foster ( I think Foster has more upside , if he can get trough this season without being injured he might find a starter job somewhere else next season )

Saints, Bengals and Titans coming up after the bye - should see some good numbers posted in that stretch - I would hold onto him until then at least.

Value is pretty low right now - I would be buying low!

I picked up Lewis as a free agent in my pre-season Dynasty auction for pretty cheap. But seeing Lewis plod through two games this year, I was not impressed. I traded Lewis for Ben Watson and am pleased with that. Lewis is only 29, I believe, but he looks pretty tired.

:goodposting: If you are a disgruntled Lewis owner, then the shark move is to be patient and trade him after a couple of these games.

I traded hime for Drew Brees, and was quite pleased with that deal. His value is remarkably low. I shopped him for weeks before I could find fair compensation.

He just turned 27 in August. Still young and buy young in a dynasty league that is NOT PPR. The guy who gave up Deion Branch made a good % move.

I'm not sure you can count 27 as "young" for a RB, since they generally drop off a cliff at 30. Plus, I think Lewis is a pretty old 27, counting injuries, a lot of carries in a couple seasons, time spent locked up in the hole, etc. His YPC has steadily decreased since his 2k yard season, and I haven't seen anything from the guy that looks like a top flight RB to me. If I could get anything decent for him, I'd unload him while I still could, because I don't think you're going to win too many leagues this year with Jamal as a starter.
