Sorry if this is a Honda. Did a search and didnt find much in first 20 pages (of 50)

I have done redraft leagues for the past 10 years or so and I have never been involved in a keeper or dynasty league. This is the first year that my main local league went to a limited keeper system based on draft rounds etc. I am excited about that but I feel my love for the redraft league waning. I want a more in depth experience where I have the same players year after year so I have joined 2 dynasty leagues that were advertised right here on FBGs.

My question is whether anyone else feels the same. Is the trend going to lean more on dynasty or are most people content with redrafts.

Also what do you prefer in your dynasty's auction with contract years, auction with no contract years or straight serpentine draft.

I am more concerned with what you have to say rather then the results of the poll since I value the knowledge of the people in the Shark Pool

MUCH prefer Dynasty with worst-to-first drafting in every round.

10 team league has only had two owners back out in 15 years of existence. I was one of the lucky replacements in 1998. Last I heard, the waiting list was 5-6 deep.

Two owners drive 5+ hours for the draft. One owner flies in from 2000+ miles away.

Solid league it is!

You forgot "worst to first in every draft round" for the draft options.
:shrug:Edit to add:I am in a 10 team keeper league that has just finished up it's 3rd season in existence. I have been (and will continue to be) in another 10 team league, a redraft league, for over 10 years. In the redraft league, we hold an auction draft (switched maybe 6 - 7 years ago now) and we love it. We'll never go back to serpentine. In the keeper league, we start 8, keep 16, and roster 21 (the 5 add'l slots are not tied to position). So far, after 3 years, it has been fantastic. The caliber of competition is top notch, the trades are more complex, better thought out, and there is much more trading action than in the redraft league. The teams stay in the same division year over year, which is another plus. Also, it adds so much more depth to the enjoyment of the game. I am thinking about the NFL draft for pretty much the first time now. Heck, the super bowl ended a week ago but I'm already thinking about next season! Our annual draft is straight worst to first for the first 5 rounds then serpentine after that (if anyone drops more than 5 they might have more than 5 rounds to draft - so far we've seen that happen in both drafts with a couple of teams). The draft seeding for the first 5 rounds is reverse order of prior year playoff seeding for the first 6 teams, then reverse order of playoff finishing for the final 4 (so the money round determines the order of picks 7-10).The parity in this league has been very satisfying so far: 3 superbowls, 3 different winners, 5 different contenders (one repeat super bowler but no title for that team...yet). There are a couple of teams that probably should have done a better job on their strategy/weren't ready for the keeper format, but otherwise it's clear that in any given year any team has at least a shot of having a successful season. ;) to the "dynasty" format!

Prefer = dynasty with knowledgeable, active owners.

I like the auction concept, but only participated in one and didn't care for that particular league.

I prefer Dynasty, with a worst-to-first draft order.

Playing re-draft is like hitting the reset button on your PS2.
