Dynasty: Whom did 2013 prove you wrong/right about? (1 Viewer)

Wrong:

-P. Garcon: Looked a lot better than I expected him to. Never thought he'd threaten, let alone surpass, 100 receptions.

-M. Austin: Thought he had more in the tank, and underestimated how career altering hamstrings can be.

-G. Bernard: Didn't think he was nearly as explosive as he proved to be.

-C. Fleener: Bought into the off-season hype. I was wrong about both his talent level and usage.

-T. Richardson: Trent Richardson.

Right:

-E. Lacy: Expected him to be a very good starting NFL RB.

-J. Reed: Thought his game would translate and make him a very productive fantasy player.

-A. Jeffery: Expected a breakout season and targeted him heavily. (Not claiming to have predicted 1,400 yards, by any means)

-L. Miller: Didn't buy the hype and felt he was overrated at his ADP.

-D. Wilson: Same as Miller. I think he showed he was overrated before the injury cemented it.

Wrong: Tony Gonzalez -- didn't think he had anything left in the tank.... and of course dynasty-wise he's toast but this is the biggest whiff I can think of. Guess I was semi-wrong on McCoy. Had doubts surrounding him vs. Bryce Brown/Mike Vick factor.... glad I was proven wrong since he carried one of my dynasty teams.

Right: I got absolutely blasted here for claiming Ray Rice would struggle to maintain his stud status. I have high hopes for him moving forward, however. I think he's a value pick in redrafts and a buy-low candidate elsewhere.

Nice thread. :thanks:

Right:

Knowshon Moreno

DeSean Jackson

Josh Gordon

targeted them all later in redrafts

Wrong:

Trent Richardson - took him in 1st round in a bunch of redrafts

Alshon Jeffrey - sold him low in a couple dynasties, avoided in redrafts

Garcon - thought his foot issue could crop up again...avoided early in redraft and sold low in a couple dynasties

Vincent Brown - Wrong. Very, very wrong.

Ryan Matthews - Right. Have always been a believer in his talent.

Bernard Pierce - Wrong. Predicted much more for 2013.

Bryce Brown - Wrong. I thought he'd have a much bigger role in the offense.

Right:

Gordon - predicted top 5 for him on somewhat of a limb

Gio/BJGE - that split is about what I expected, folks were WAY too high on BJGE based on his volume from previous years

Blount - I predicted those last two monster regular season games when they signed him (no, I didn't - I just wanted to see if anyone was paying attention)

Wrong:

Allen - never really believed he had it, apparently could not have been more wrong

Decker - didn't see the repeat solid performance with Welker in town, underestimated just how much damage that offense could do

RGIII - expected a big season, I get the feeling I wasn't alone...

Right

Ryan Mathews - talent + health + oline came together finally

Rivers - didn't give up on him

Flacco - he still sucks

wrong

Greg Little - never put it together

TRich - not excited to sell low, but he sucks

read option QB play - defenses made major adjustments. It's still useful, but not as dominant as an overall philosophy as a I expected.

Right

Tavon Austin wouldn't live up to the hype.

Gordon would be a stud. It feels good having him as your WR 2 across multiple dynasty leagues.

Vereen would have value when given an opportunity and healthy.

Wrong

Wheaton would make old man Crotchety irrelevant and force Sanders to the WR 3 spot on the Steelers.

Stedman Bailey would be the new Dola in St. Louis.

LMJ would be relevant.

Right:

Antonio Brown - Drafted him in several start-up leagues. He screamed "opportunity" to me.

Eric Decker - SO many people were down on him. People need to accept he's a stud. 6'3" and fast enough.

Wrong:

Tavon Austin - At least in year 1.

Lamar Miller - Brutal.

Right:

Ray Rice tanking all season.

Danny Amendola would be oft injured.

Cam Newton is an elite QB

Wrong:

Kenbrel Thompkins would be the Patriots number 1 receiver.

Zack Sudfeld would be an elite TE

CJ Spiller would be the next top RB

Right

A. Foster- after last year I said avoid he was going to be a lot this year and in the future

A. Brown- I added him as much as I could I thought he had top ten potential

Wrong

L.Miller- I got him in every redraft I had thinking he would be a monster this year and even traded a late first and Zac Stacy for him

J. Gordon- I actually cut him in a smaller cap league before the season I thought Little was the better Wr in Cleveland

Right:

Ray Rice tanking all season.

Danny Amendola would be oft injured.

Cam Newton is an elite QB

Wrong:

Kenbrel Thompkins would be the Patriots number 1 receiver.

Zack Sudfeld would be an elite TE

Sudfeld never passed the eyeball test for me. He looked so much less physically imposing than other TEs and didn't appear to be able to do all the things TEs do...

I still like Spiller and believe the year (of valuable performance) was lost to a lingering angle injury. That being said, Fred Jackson is a productive guy and the time share may keep Spiller from being a "top RB", although he should be very good.

I was right on Patterson, Stacey and a couple others. Not really wrong about anyone of consequence, but should have pulled the trigger on Moreno. I thought he would rise to the top of the Bronco backfield mainly because they wouldn't trust a younger back to protect Manning. I was right about that but apparently not enough to make the pick.

I could provide a long list of answers to this question if it was just about 2013 re-draft. I can't answer it from a dynasty perspective. Just because a guy had a disappointing or great year still does not mean you are right or wrong about his long term dynasty outlook.
