Eagle homers (1 Viewer)

He's got to stay healthy for the rest of the year. If he can do that I think the Eagles will make every effort to resign him this offseason. If another team decided to make him a huge offer I don't think they'll get into a bidding war because they don't consider WR to be a make or break position.

there have been no 'vocal' rumblings in philly surrounding stallworth being resigned or not, yet. The mentality on that situation is to wait and see if stallworth can stay healthy for the rest of the year, if he closes out the year strong(and healthy), not only would I like to see him resigned (as an eagles fan), but i'd fully expect it. He fits the mold of "an eagles personality", he's young, team oriented and wants to win.. He has the talent along with the deep speed they thought they had and missed when they drafted todd pinkston. If he can stay healthy and continue to produce for the rest of this season is what it all depends on at this point. They wont break the bank by any means, but I'd expect to see the usual eagles contract, an above average signing bonus with lower yearly saleries.

bottom line is..

Stallworth stays healthy - definate contract

Stallworth continues to suffer through hammy problems - possible, but doubtful contract

very accurate assessment of where things seem to be going... :goodposting:

Is Stallworth THE go to guy for Mcnabb?

I haven't seen any of his games but see that most of his yards are in long runs.

I have DJAX and Wayne so I'm a little hesitant to start him over either of them. Though I do love that matchup vs Tenn.

Sure seems like it. It seems that the 3 games that Stallworth has been healthy (or close to it), he has been the most heavily targeted WR.

it does seem like stallworth has come in and taken that "top WR, big threat" player this year. The best comparison that i can relate it to is the randy moss/cris carter duo. (im not comparing stallworth to moss or brown to carter, just the situation) Stallworth seems to have the big play ability and can make the tough catches deep down field as well as shorter routes, while brown is more of the possession guy looked to on out/curl/slants and in the redzone. It has the ability to be a very good duo of their abilities complementing each other if it stays together for more then just this year. But McNabb really loves to air the ball out and stallworth benefits from that more then any other player on the roster.

even for the draft happy Eagles, a Third round pick is well worth a quality WR, so I doubt the pick will factor much ibnto the decision making

If you remember some of their other first day WR picks (Freddie Mitchell, Todd Pinkston), this is a small price to pay.

I disagree.Targets

Stallworth had some solid games, but for the first 5 games of the year, there were 5 different 100+ yard receivers.

McNabb hits the open man, plain and simple.

Suprisingly there is not a ton of talk.

The Eagles have a huge amount under the cap and could have locked in Stallworth to a long term deal (and count most of it towards this year's cap) but didn't.

I guess his injury issues must scare them.

I think it will be a wait and see thing.
