Any insight into why he was cut? I thought he was a decent enough player.

Numbers game. Bunkley and Patterson will start and rotate with FAs Montae Reagor and Ian Scott. They probably also keep Lajuan Ramsey who they drafted two years ago. This move was certainly expected.

no surprise here. Rayburn's ok, but nothing special...a backup on most teams

I expected that this would eventually happen, but I thought it would be during camp... Rayburn has been a good soldier, why not give him a chance to win a job? Plus he's a decent insurance policy against a DT injury.

Rayburn and Ramsey took turns being inactive most weeks. Rayburn is also much older and probably paid more. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in camp as an extra body or in case of an injury.

Probably giving him a chance to catch on with another team with more PT.
